I thought some of the more rabid fans of SCII might enjoy this more than I did.

I don't consider myself a rabid fan but I did find the original StarCraft to be immensely fun. This video looks pretty sweet...this might be the first RTS I pick up in YEARS.

I love the commentary, just like a sports match.

I'm already giddy for more... I've always loved StarCraft.

High level starcraft play is crazy but it's nice to see that a lot of that play was less about hitting buttons and more about the movement of units.

Yeah, Bogard posted a link to this in IRC. I hate the commentary; the guys doing it suck (and yeah, I know one is the lead designer; doesn't mean he's a good commentator). They talk all the time, even when they don't need to. I mean, some of it was kinda interesting, but a lot of it... You can see what's going on yourself, you don't need them to tell you.

Have you ever watched a sporting event? That's all the commendtators do is tell you what's happening.

Especially Madden. Oy.

Also, if you're not a high-level RTS player, a lot of it is pretty fascinating to see two guys bring their A game. The commentary helps explain what's going on to people that may not get the nuances of micro and using peons to scout.

The commentary was a good addition if you don't know about the units and their strengths and weaknesses. My favorite part was the end when one player conceded and the announcer said "And there's the GG!"

That was the good thing with the Dawn of War 2 panel at PAX. Once the devs remembered that they were talking to the fans, they dropped all of the handholding and just showed the action, and talked in more detail about new features.

Well, sure, if you know everything you don't need the commentary. But, well, there was one part when it was a zealot versus a marauder, and the commentary is something like: "It's down to two units, who's going to win, the zealot is pulling ahead, looks like he's going to win, he does!". But even the biggest noob doesn't need commentary to tell what's going on when there are just two units fighting, and each one has a life bar over it's head. Also, when they're talking so fast you can hear them constantly taking breaths... Yeah, no thanks.

I don't have a problem with commentary in general, but this commentary in particular was bad.

These guys aren't very good as Starcraft commentators, but have you actually watched Starcraft matches with commentary before? That's how it is.

I'll have to watch this when I get home.

If one game makes me actually go out and by a new rig, it'll be this.

Just wish I didn't have to wait 3 years for all storyline to be completed!

I didn't like the original StarCraft. Too much micro and unit spamming for my liking.
I'll still probably pick this up because it's a PC game, and therefore cheap.

I found some of the commentary to be a bit silly, but you can't say nothing so basically they have to describe every stupid part of the game I guess. Overall though it was informative since I don't really know what the units do in the new game. New game looks really fun overall.

Just watched this, I thought the commentary was fine. It's definitely aimed at a more general audience, but that's the point of commentary anyhow. It's never been aimed for the more 'hardcore'.

That was pretty cool. I always like watching high level RTS matches since it points out how much better these guy are than I am. Since I've never played Starcraft the commentary was helpful. Thanks for posting it.

I used to be 'ok' at SC back in the day.

The Pro players are scary though. It's all about keeping constant pressure on the other player, micro and constant shifting of units and counters. I was never that good though.

I'd like to see more of these, perhaps a Zerg v Terran would be good.
