Anyone has a spare wired 360 controller that they don't use anymore.
I'm hoping to pick one up so that the wife and I can play co-op games on my PC (namely L4D).
If anyone has one at a decent price that they are willing to part with let me know.
Thanks

I assume you have just one controller be it wired or wireless?

Nope, don't have a controller yet, that is why I'm looking for one.
Previously I had been using my xbox S Controller (original xbox), but I recently upgraded to Vista 64bit and XBCD doesn't work for it without disabling driver checks.
So I need a new controller to game on my PC so that my wife and I can do co-op L4D (keyboard + gamepad combo)

if you have a 360 (and i assume you do as your gamertag is in your sig), the cheapest way to use your controllers on the pc is the gaming receiver (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows-Pc/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=tag_tdp_sv_edpp_t).
i snagged one to use my wireless conts w/ my pc which is hooked up to my HD. works like a charm, i can even use my nice 360 wireless headset for L4D!

I don't have a 360. My Gamer tag is for GFWL + my original Xbox live account.

I have one that I would be willing to trade. Let me know if you have any games you're looking to unload.

Oddly enough some places sell the bundled wireless 360 controller with receiver cheaper than a standalone wired controller.

Unfortunately 99% of my game buying is through Steam. So unless selling is an option, I doubt i have much to trade.

Wireless has a lot more issues with drivers on the PC from what I hear. (Also it doesn't work as well for l4d co-op on PC.

So, am I reading this thread correctly in that the wireless 360 controller needs a game receiver to work on the PC, but the wired one works out of the box? I just got Prince of Persia for PC, and along with Aquaria, having a good controller is becoming more of an issue.

Correct. Also, it should work perfectly with PoP, since The Two Thrones supported it natively, so I'm assuming the new one will as well.

Wait, wouldn't a Play 'n Charge kit also give you connectivity?

Nope. Play n Charge kit doesn't work for the PC.

Play n Charge kit does not transfer any data over the USB cable only power.

... Someone needs to get slapped at MS for that.

Do you enjoy the Dual Shock 3 controller? I have been using mine for a while now on my PC and while it took a modified driver found on the net and Windows XP, it does work just fine. (No rumble obviously)
Only problem is that the USB cord that comes with it is really short.

Definitely. I would much rather be able to use the wireless controller. The other day I almost destroyed my brand new computer. I was in the middle of L4D and my mic cable goes across the floor from my computer to my lounge chair. My daughter woke up screaming so i ran to grab her...forgetting about my mic wire.
Unfortunately it pulled my entire desktop off of its 3 ft stand. Fortunately it withstood the fall and the only damage was to the mic cable itself.
