Well, what did you all think of it?

I think they kinda missed the mark here. The only cool thing (well, thing that can possibly be cool) is the new DS. But, WHY THE HELL DID THEY REMOVE THE GBA SLOT?! I think that the Gamecube remakes are kind of pointless and are just a way to gouge people of there money. Instead of making sequels to beloved game series, they just give us a new control scheme? Lame:mad:

I don't think they're doing it instead of making sequels. What they're doing is (presumably) quite easy, so it's not taking much time or money away from other projects.

Also, getting games like Pikmin and Chibi-Robo out to a wider audience would pretty clearly benefit a sequel. And it seems like a smart move to re-release the out of print Pikmin and Pikmin 2 in a more accessible format before releasing Pikmin 3.

I was very pleased with the conference, and it was a billion times better than E3. We get the new DS announcement, storage solution for the Wii, and Club Nintendo. That's not even mentioning the new games we got to see such as Punch Out!!, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga 3, Solid Object Picross, and a few others. It was a pretty exciting day for Nintendo fans, honestly.

I would absolutely love the new DS if it didn't get rid of that GBA slot. I mean, the GBA has one of the most amazing library of games ever, so that's really kind of a let down.

The storage solution really wasn't much of one.

Club Nintendo coming to America was an amazing announcement (and about damn time!).

The games part of it was kind of disappointing though. The new Punch-Out!! looks like boxing from Wii Sports (which didn't go too well) and I have never really been a big fan of the Mario and Luigi RPGs (which is weird because I loved SMRPG and Paper Mario 1&2).

Better than E3 for sure though. But, is that really saying much?

On the games tip, don't forget Sin and Punishment 2. That could be killer.

Agreed. I forgot about that. I saw that on Joystiq today and my pants became brown :D

They took out the GBA slot because it cost money without making any money. Pure and simple. While they were still making GBA games it was a potential money maker. Now? It's just extra dough down the drain.

You really think Punch Out!! for the Wii looks anything like Wii Boxing? The video I saw, it looked just Super Punch Out!! but with a different (worse) art style. There were other things, though. Like the new 2D side scroller from Vanillaware (makers of Odin Sphere), a Miles Edgeworth game, Trace Memory Wii (that's what I'm calling it anyway), and a lot of other stuff I can't get a name for. It was pretty cool seeing so many good looking games coming up in the next year.

Oh my god, are you serious? The first S&P is AWESOME. A sequel is too good to be true.

And I called them taking the GBA slot off the newest DS redesign. A friend of mine now owes me $20. :D

That....that's not what's supposed to happen when you get excited.

For everyone's sake, please never have sex.

For everyone's sake, please never have sex.Maybe it's something completely unrelated. Maybe he has a sweet pair of heat-sensitive color-changing pants that turn brown when he gets excited.

I'm personally praying desperately that this is the case.

Well, he could be an exec in charge of the PSP and just saw that Nintendo was going to outsell them in the handheld market even more.

What bothered me the most, and maybe I'm alone here, is that we had another Nintendo conference with no mention of Professor Layton 2. The first was probably my favorite game of this past year.

This is true.

I forgot about vanillaware's game. That looks to be a really cool sleeper hit.
