Just dropped yesterday, and it's surprisingly good. Better than that even. It's possibly the best game I've played on the iPhone yet. It's an almost perfect translation of Sim City 3 to the platform. The graphics and music from the source game are all intact and look and sound fantastic. The interface is perfect. Everything is sized just right for your fingers. Drag and drop objects like zoning and roads have finger sized icons at the edges to help you precisely size them. Zooming is handled just like in Google maps. Really, you've got to try it though to see how good it is.
It's a bit on the high end for iPhone games ($10), but well worth it IMO, and a much better portable game than many options on the DS and PSP that go for 2-3 times as much. If I doubted the iPhone's viability as a gaming platform before, I certainly don't now. One note, some people are complaining of stability issues with the game. I haven't personally run into any, and I'd bet good money that the vast majority of complaints are coming from people who didn't restart their phone after installing the game.
