So I rented Project Gotham 4 from GameFly. It came in today.
I rented it for one reason and one reason only - to earn one single achievement.
Care to take a guess what achievement that was?
And yes, I know you can look it up on my gamercard.

I know which one it is, but not how you got it or anything like that.
Edit - Never mind, I sussed it out. And yes, you're a dork (and an Achievement whore).

I just looked up the achievements quickly to see what could have been the culprit of your gamerpoints whoring and came up with a couple that might be the winners.
Achievement Icon
Buy an Achievement
Buy the K1,000,000 gamer picture to earn this Achievement.
20G
or maybe something like:
Achievement Icon
Play It Again Sam
Improve on a medal earned in any arcade event
20G
Seems rather easy to achieve.
Sounds like someone is a serious whore, and I'd love to hear just how bad your addiction truly is. :)

None of that.
It was a puzzle achievement.
During any stormy race, be traveling at over 88mph in a Delorean when lightning flashes.
That's all I wanted.

I really liked the puzzle achievements in that game. I thought they were pretty neat. Kudos to Bizarre Creations for doing something a little different. And I apologize for the pun.

The real question now becomes, will Criterion be able to top that with the downloadable "not a Delorean" Delorean in Burnout Paradise come January? I'm thinking if you're in the Jansen 88 under those conditions, it should actually take you back in time and load up a ROM version of the original Burnout. ;)

That's freakin' awesome. What should happen is, your car gets struck by lighting and then it disappears in a streak of fire. Then you automatically win the race, because you traveled to the future in an instant.
This has me thinking. I know there was a lame ass Back to the Future game back in the days of the NES, but they should totally make a new one. With good graphics and what not. I'd probably buy it, as long as it was done well.

I've suggested that, in Burnout Paradise, it should allow you to teleport to different locations on the map.
Also, I still own both BTTF games on the NES. And both sucked.

I think there was 3, one for each movie. I remember playing the first one, and yes, it was lame. If done right, however, it could be done. You'd have to fight Biff and his goons. It would be one of those games that would need some sort of real time clock, and you would have to be at a certain place at a certain time or else you would cause a paradox and destroy the universe! It's a shame movie based games are always such garbage, because there's so many great movies that would make great games if done right.
A time traveling game needs to be made, there's just so many possibilities of what could be done and seen. If it's not done by the time I graduate, I'm gonna just make my own dammit.:p
It will be the greatest game in the history of video games.

I have to admit, that achievement was why I rented the game.

Nice call, D. I wish we'd see more games along the lines of Chrono Trigger.

I think there was 3, one for each movie.
There was one for the first film and the other two films were put on the same game. It wasn't even a combo deal like Mario & Duck Hunt...they totally crammed it all into one game with the ability to travel to 1885, 1955, 1985, and 2015. Man, it sucked.

According to one of the recent episodes of the Retronauts podcast, the game Radical Dreamers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radical_Dreamers) was a pseudo-sequel that pretty much nobody played (as opposed to Chrono Cross, which plenty of people played), so I guess you could track that down if you're feeling completionist.
Me, I'm just happy Chrono Trigger is on the DS. It'll be my first full playthrough of the game, only having been able to play it occasionally at a friend's house when I was a teenager for lack of a SNES of my own. :D

You know, there is also an achievement that you get if you park an Aston Martin DBS next to the Casino Royale in one of the maps. Not quite as nerdy, but still fun.
