Screen redraw when alt-tabbing

I didn't have this problem before with my NVidia card, but with my 4870 everytime I alt tab out, the screen blacks out. This even happens when quitting out of a windowed Diablo 2.

Any suggestions on how to stop it?

Try installing the non-windows certified drivers at Guru3D.com maybe?

Vista or XP?

Are the colour depths different? 16-bit switching to 32-bit?

Oh color depths - will have to check that when I get home. Should be the same but forgot about that. I thought it was refresh but making them the same doesn't seem to have fixed anything.
