It's a rather boring Business laptop, but it looks like a fairly good deal with a coupon code.

I ended up upgrading to make it $800 with a T8100 CPU, 128MB 8400GS, and other bells and whistles.
That price is only good for today I believe.

I have the first version of the Vostro; 1500. You say boring business laptop, I sleek black sturdy laptop that doesn't come loaded with shovelware. Granted I installed a faster and bigger HDD and installed Windows Ultimate instead of the business version it came with. and I'm actually contemplating getting rid of my desk top. Just use my laptop as my PC when i get home. I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and a VGA cable. Doesn't seem like I need much more. One issue is it gets hot at the bottom. I was about to see is that with or without battery.
I almost wish I was smart enough to get a smaller laptop back then. I had hopes of playing some of the older games on it like AOM or Planescape: Torment. A small system would have been fine as this computer is and more mobile.
In short.... Vostro ftw. It's like a better built Inspiron without all the bullshit.
