Hey Guys, I need alittle help. In recently cleaning out the ever piling load of shit I have in my basement, I came across a pristine copy of Skies of Arcadia for Sega Dreamcast. Checking Ebay, I see this game is going for around $40. I was shocked, as the Dreamcast is as dead a fish as a hooker on rufees. So my question is this... Should I put it up on the bay, or does it have any trade value on a site such as this or EvAv? I'm not much of a game historian, any advice would be appreciated.

Skies of Arcadia is segas best RPG, and the best RPG on the dreamcast. if you have a working dreamcast, give it a run through, its a charming titles. And yes, the trade value is worth more than $40.
incidentally, a few of the characters from Skies will pop up in valkyria chronicles so if your playing that title, it might be nice to get a bit of history of it :).

I have Skies of Arcadia for GameCube... guessing that's not worth nearly as much as the original DC version, though.

The games content is worth more than $40. Selling it for money would more than likely indicate loss.

I do have a working Dreamcast.... I'm thinking maybe a package trade deal...

Man. I never finished that game. This thread makes me want to hook my Dreamcast back up and finish it. :)

I have this, but need to play through it. I played the beginning back when it originally came out, but quickly got bored due to the more than constant random battles. So, unless I ever go back and actually play it, I will still hail Grandia II as the best Dreamcast RPG 8-P.

It's a love it or hate it thing. Some people hate it, some people love it, give it a try. It's a good RPG.
But it's not Sega's best. Most people now will probably tell you that title belongs to Valkyria Chronicles.

Is this game rare? I just sold my copy over the summer for $6 shipped.

It's not rare but it has demand. $40 is the going price for either the DC or Gamecube version.

Definitely. I couldn't find either copy for less than $50 used at the the stores up here back when I was looking.
I would have been interested in this DC copy a couple of years ago, but I just don't have time for JRPG's anymore :(

I loved this game back in the day, but the random encounters drove me nuts.
My copy has a bug that doesn't let me beat the final boss, so I've never seen the ending. :(

Rare is a pretty strong word to use with any modern game. Games these days don't function very well as collectibles.
