Does anybody still play this? My brother recently lent me the game and I'm very much enjoying it so far. Even tho it feels just like the other AW games I still like it. I want to get through the campaign and then I'll be ready to take on anyone who wants to battle me.

I got about halfway through before I had to give it back to the friend I was borrowing it from. I enjoyed my experience a good bit, I did.

I'm only on Mission 3 but so far I'm in love. I really need to put down animal crossing and get to my other games and finish them. :)

I still play it on occasion but for the most part all my time is sunk into FFT:A2

I've played all the Advance Wars games but have beaten one. I'm not sure what it is but I may go back to this one soon.

I've always thought about getting one of the Advance War games but never got round to it. Anyone willing to give me a brief hands on description of how the game plays etc.?

It's like a turned based real time strategy where you are able to buy different infantry, armor, or air. The object is to capture the buildings (City's?) while trying to push your way towards the enemy's HQ where you have to capture his HQ to win.

Cool, I'll probably get it in the near future to try for myself.

If you know what that means, feel free to add me. :)

I love Advance Wars, even though I always use the worst strategies. :o

I really enjoyed this game for quite a bit, but then I sort of lost interest and moved on to something else. I love games like this, but I rarely have enough time to do an entire late-game battle in one sitting, which is also why I stopped playing FF:A2. As good as both these games are, I may have to wait 'til the summer to finish them.

Goddamn this game gets hard... so it's definitely an AW game! I like the new units and the story is actually bearable this time. I'm on the last or second to last mission, and I've had to do some of them multiple times- my tactics are not quite adapted to this game of chess with artillery.

I take advantage of the quick save a lot when I think I've setup a good defense. I've also spent a lot of time on the many bonus missions, most of which are harder than the story missions. It's really a solid title.

The difficulty level of the last mission is insane. It's... It's not even remotely fair. Save yourself a ton of headache and use a FAQ. I tried the last mission about ten times before giving up and using a FAQ. I've never had to do it for any of the previous advance wars games, even on the "Advanced" difficulty that unlocks after you beat the game.

Yeah... I am actually on the last mission, I know it because the girl told me in the tactics room this would be the last time for her to give tactics advice. Mission 26 with the Owl's Nest lasers... FUCK. This will take a few days... or weeks.

I was playing this while I was over in Europe. I was taken aback at first by the change in setting, which I thought was rather neat (and fairly dark compared to the usual series offerings).

Might have to get back into it and try the online.

I was also surprised by the darkness of the story. It's also got some decent humor and there is even some self-parody going on near the end, making fun of the "war tent" tactics room that becomes suddenly incongruous in one of the last missions.

I am playing the version translated in Europe, so I don't know how much of this dialogue depth was kept in the American translation, but it was refreshing after the really banal and childish dialogue from the last Advance Wars for DS.
