Ghostbear is a hell of a guest. If anything, this show is worth a listen for his voice alone.

Great episode, I really enjoyed it. I had a much different experience with the Those! quest.
In which I ended up massacring the entire Family. I think it was because I killed the guy outside their hideout, or I kept my gun visible. Either way I got lots of loot!
I find it weird how I couldn't sleep in someones bed after I killed them though... I mean, it's not like they need it, right?

Like I mentioned in the last two shows, I have an evil deficiency. Therefore, I failed to see anything beyond the righteous path. Hopefully though, now that I've completed the game, I can start playing the evil bastard I'd like to be. Starting with that damned Overseer.

Well that's the thing, I'm playing the good guy too. But they still tried to take me out. I don't think I lost karma from killing them, just from taking their stuff. That said, go kick the Overseer's ass!

The first time I ever played the game, I "accidentally" shot the Overseer's head off. Man I felt bad at the time. Now? Not so much. I'm curious though as to where you stand on the Tranquility Lane deal? Why was it ok to have them picked off by the commies yet not ok when you do it yourself?

Actually I haven't quite gotten that far yet, which is unfortunate because I really am enjoying the game, it's just hard to find the time to put into it.

But after hearing all of your takes on that specific scenario it really makes me want to dive into the game and put as much time as possible into it. I just need two more weeks :(

Because it's considered humane. Braun had been mentally torturing these people, and by you assisting him makes it as if you approve of his methods. Commies invading fits in the simulation, while also ending their miserable lives in a kinder way. Being gunned down versus mentally broken down by a sadistic 200 year old scientist, getting gunned down is better.

Still seems fucked up if you ask me. Why not death by chocolate sundae or something?

Ghostbear is a hell of a guest. If anything, this show is worth a listen for his voice alone. You're one to talk, with dulcet tones sounding like Aesop Rock (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrsj653088E). (Though I'm sure this is far the first time you've heard that.)I'm curious though as to where you stand on the Tranquility Lane deal? Why was it ok to have them picked off by the commies yet not ok when you do it yourself? That was incredibly lame, agreed. You'd think that with a high enough science skill you could put them in a scenario where they held the power over him, like make him the town drunk or something, locked up. Or turn him into the dog. Have it a completely new town where you could do anything you wanted to them. You know how some games have pets, or similar side-games, where you can raise them or make them take shape, etc? Turn Tranquility Lane into your own personal aquarium, and have the people there evolve over time depending on your interaction with them, turning the place into a haven, a hell, or hip them to the real world, etc. ... Now I'm just rambling.

You flatter, Jeffool. Truth is, I've rarely done anything like what I'm doing with this show. Basically, working vocally with people in other parts of the country. Apparently, I have some sort of accent. Something that's been continuously brought up since these recordings started. Something I'm not used to hearing as I feel I communicate in the same manner as the rest of the locals. Diversity man, it's fucking gorgeous. Thanks for the kind words.

See, I kinda like that idea. So much that the way it actually played out feels somewhat flat now. I mean, it's the one point in the game where you actually experience something that isn't the wasteland and it turns out to be extremely limited. That scene should have either been a gem in regards to the story or your own damned fishbowl. In reality though, it turned out to be like a Titanic movie with no wreck. If you're not gonna give me the wreck, let me at least hang out at the bar.

Seconded. And he helped with the FO3 info, which saved me from tearing my hair out when other people didn't know what's what. (I've got 90% of the wikia info now in my head and I'm at 130 hours played.)

Though, now I'm going to go back and listen to the other two episodes, so I can hear everyone make fun of you! :DI mean, it's the one point in the game where you actually experience something that isn't the wasteland and it turns out to be extremely limited. Given the expanse and depth of the post-apocalyptic wasteland, getting a glimpse of (what I assume to have been) the precursor to that world... It felt really sparse and empty. Damn, now that I think about it, that's really ironic.

Heh, if you played good and refer to the Overseer like that, I take it you didn't go back to Vault 101 half-way through the game..... (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Trouble_on_the_Homefront)

Ghostbear knows more about the Fallout universe than anyone has the right to. Listening to him discuss the details in that way he does, I couldn't help but consider just how much I was missing out on. Rarely do I ever receive that courtesy. Like I said, I flunked out of Fallout college. I certainly expect to have him sit in on future shows.

(http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Trouble_on_the_Homefront)Ah man, that quest was one of my favorites, and was an excellent use of the Pip Boy's radio. It came to my mind when they mentioned it on the cast, but I guess it didn't come to mind for them.

I'm not worried. I'm simply intrigued. Something taken for granted being commented upon. I have to admit though, it has been fairly complimentary for the most part.

I do encourage you to listen to the other show though. We're still very new at this and while I feel we hit upon a dynamic very early on, we still need some refinement. Something better illustrated by a listener I imagine. We seriously appreciate any support we get from you guys. This probably would have never come to fruition if it weren't for a community like this.

Oh, I'm sure I could take Ghostbear up on a Fallout knowledge challenge. ;) With the wealth of it's universe that's built up, the fact that Fallout doesn't have an official RPG (pen and paper) is just sad. Thankfully the internet came to the rescue (http://pnp.fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page).

It killed me that I missed the awesome "evil" way to handle that quest, which I didn't notice at the time. Though right now I'm working back through as a good character, so it'll be a bit before I get a chance to try it.

Wow. That PnP game looks pretty hot. I'm almost inclined to organize a Fallout fact fest between you two. Anyone else that's up for the challenge as well. Might toss a prize in there too. Listener votes? Methinks melikes.

I just read a little into it, but that sounds really cool. Stop making me want to neglect my school work!!

Oh I forgot you guys talked about skipping main story missions. I never talked to Moriarty (or whatever his name is) inside of Megaton, I stumbled across the Super Mutant attack and the Behemoth just wandering around. Then I met Three Dog and an objective I never thought of doing was suddenly complete. I never even went into that guy's bar, perhaps I should check it out...

I haven't listened to the show yet (in fact I won't, since I'm not done), but how does being a guest work? I'd like to contribute if I can.

Edit: Never mind, I see the thread.

Probably, I have to admit the reason the fallout 2 knowledge was so fresh is that I had recently played through it.

Good show. I for one love the Moira Survival Guide quest. I've completed it three times with each of my different characters. I'm going to be exploring and scrounging for ammo and xp anyway so why not have a goal to focus on? At the end of the quest you've gained a few levels and picked up some blueprints and other assorted junk as well.

I always looked at the Tranquility Lane quest as "let them continue to endure suffering" versus "activate the fail safe and put them out of their unending misery."

I don't know it's so much the quest line, as much as it is her. *SHE* is the one that really kills people.
