I just made it to the 2nd to the last act of the single player and so far the game is great. Improved pretty much across the board from the 1st game. Gave multiplayer a try yesterday and enjoyed it as well. Looking forward to some coop at some point.

Like I said in the KZ2 thread, not sure how many of our TF2 players play Resistance 2 out there, but Thursday is usually our scheduled TF2 night.

Might be a problem for you guys, might not.

Maybe, maybe not. This was a rather short notice kinda thing, pretty informal. I'm sure that if we decide to do it regularly a different night could be chosen if there are any conflicts.

It would help, but the way the classes are set up in co-op, you can get buy without it so long as you know your role. If you have even an old USB headset that should work, if that's an option.

9PM EST was the time we settled on, not sure if that'd work for anyone on the West coast.

Just for a quick overview of the classes and their roles (I'm going to use some MMO terms):

Soldier - You're the tank, the damage sponge. You have the ability to put up a shield and you should be in front of everyone at all times. Always keep the shield up, always keep shooting. Pretty simple.

Spec Ops - The glass cannon, or heavy DD. SOs deal big damage, but can't take it at all. They also are in charge of supplying everyone with ammo, so one of the main priorities is keeping the Soldiers supplied with ammo for the shield so you can all stay alive.

Medic - The healer. Pretty simple, shoot the enemeis to drain life, shoot your allies to heal them. You can "store up" health to give later. You can also do an AoE healing "bomb" to heal groups of allies.

That's a very simple breakdown of the three classes. As you gain levels with them, they can gain abilities (the medic gets a basic gun for attacks after a bit).

Posted this in the KZ2 thread that we somehow managed to jack but I'll repeat it here: I'm going to try and make it home tonight for this. My wife and I fell behind at work as we weren't able to make it into the office yesterday due to the weather and we're just swamped (which is odd given our profession and the time of the year).

If I can make it out, I'm going to try and nab a headset too. If I can't, can you still hear people through the television like you can in Halo should you not be wearing a headset? If so and if I manage to sneak out early, I can at least take orders well.

I kept getting invites, joining, hearing everyone, then going to a message screen that says 'Join Failed.' Over and over again.

I don't know what the hell happened, but it happened to a few of us.

Sucks. I was looking forward to this.

that was my first time playing coop anyway, so it took me a bit to feel around how it works...

and i need to fix my internet connection before i try again. im so down for another night.

Well, do you want to pick a day for this week and see if others follow suit? Tonight would be great for me but if it is too short of notice then Tuesday or Thursday would work fine as well.

Tonight could work, or any day. Evenings always work out the say for me, it's just getting the kids to bed and looking to sit down and play a game. :)

I think we just need to have a designated party leader to send invites and everything and that should solve a lot of problems.

Yeah, and another thing I learned from my turn as party leader was that you need to make sure all the settings are set correctly. At first, I had missed that screen and only people from my Frieds list were allowed to join. That caused Duke to be left out until I realized my mistake.

Thankfully they were in bed already, but the wife had TV control with some DVR'd programs, I was just downloading the RE5 demo (which I never got to try).

How about Wednesday for a regular day, any conflicts there with anyone?

Yeah, I was playing the RE5 demo myself. I was hoping a buddy of mine would come online so we could try out the co-op.

Wednesdays really aren't very good for me (for the next few weeks at least) but if it works for everyone else, don't let me stop you.

Had fun guys! We managed to fare pretty well for awhile with all of us behind the shield...but that park level ultimately was our undoing - too many angles from which the enemies could approach.

I was on from 9 pm to 9:30 in a lobby and not a single one of you fuckers was online. I ended up advancing a bit in the single player campaign, but even when I was done, no one was on with R2.

If this sort of co-op thing is going to work, we'll need better turnout. :)

Sorry about that, I got caught up with Burnout Paradise on the 360, lol.

I will definitely be on tonight after the Devils game though, unless you're in on the Gears tuesday thing.

Thread revival!

I'll be looking to setup a party on Saturday night around 9 PM (or a tiny bit later) if anyone's interested. Oddly I'm not looking to just do co-op, but all game modes, so we can jump between them. Anyone who's interested either just post here or send me a PSN message that night. To avoid any confusion (if we actually get people playing) I'll handle the party and the inviting so that we don't have any problems.
