View Full Version : Zune deleting MP3s from my hard drive?

Title pretty much says it all. Bought some new MP3s tonight, and added them to a playlist. I noticed that some of the songs on that list didn't have the little mini-zune icon next to them, and some had a circle with a line through it (like the no smoking symbol). I checked for these MP3s on my hard drive, and lo and behold, the folders are all there like normal, but the MP3s are gone. Any experience with problems like these? It's a first gen 30 gig model, with the latest software.
In the Zune Marketplace software go into Settings-device-Syn Options and checkmark the "Manual Sync" option.

Do you have any other software (like iTunes) set to keep your music collection organized. If so when iTunes saw the new mp3s it would take the music and put it in its own folder structure wherever the default location is for your music.
I've never had any issues with the Zune software deleting anything, and there is no way the auto sync is deleting content from you. The only place that would delete anything is off the Zune itself, wouldn't remove it from your hard drive.

Zune owners, do yourselves and all others a favor, start bombarding RockBox.org with e-mails for a working version of the firmware for first and second generation Zunes. The world will be a better place.

Definitely. Rockbox kicks ass. I'd love to see it on Zune.
