A bit off-topic, but I am finding myself coming into need of a laptop, but not for gaming.
So, what are some cheap/good recomendations? I mean CHEAP, but preferably capable of running Windows XP to be able to play nice with the printers and items at the places I seem to spend my time.
My ideal size would be maybe 13" inches or so.. a small one, web browsing, IRC, coding some, MAYBE watching videos, writing papers. Professional/student crap.
By cheap I mean under $400 or even under $300 really. Again, not for gaming.

It sounds like you are looking for an ultraportable. The screen size for those are anywhere from 8 to 12". So:
Acer Aspire One AOA110-1113 Blue Intel Atom N270(1.60GHz) 8.9" 512MB Memory 8GB SSD Netbook - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?SID=872667-2-0-ARTICLE-0&Item=N82E16834115530&nm_mc=AFC-DealNews&cm_mmc=AFC-DealNews-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA)
$249.99
Lenovo IdeaPad S10 Atom 1.6GHz 10.2" (http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/integration.workflow:ProductDisplayBundle?IsBundle =true&GroupID=37&Code=42312DU&OID=:00000025:00001AAB:&PID=PG42312DU)
Price: $399.99
You could also wait for the HP deal on Black Friday: 40% off any HP.com purchase on Black Friday (http://shopping.hp.com/shopping/html/popup/msnlive?aoid=35252)

Ohhh thanks harle.
I think I may be going with the $550 laptop from HP.. unless the difference between that and the $450 one is minimal, as for some reason, I can't tell how much slower the cheaper one is.

Remember that both laptops are that price BEFORE the live.com cashback. So, after cashback they will be $330 and $270, respectively.

Any good ultraportables with a standard sized or (close to standard sized) keyboard? I hate having a constrained keyboard but at the same time carrying my current laptop around is not doable. It's very heavy.
Screen size is also fairly important to me. Anything under 10" probably isn't for me.

I wish they would make ones with a fold out keyboard.. even if it adds half an inch to it.
**edit**
I am thinking the cheaper of the 2 HP laptops... the Hard Drive is smaller on the cheaper one, and it has less RAM.. the video chipset is also a bit slower.. but again, not what I needed

I also saw a Dell Vostro A860 for $350 (http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&l=en&oc=bqcwaap&cs=04&kc=9&X=9&Y=6&dgc=BF&cid=27740&lid=943171)
I can't direct link to the ones at HP, but they both have more RAM and HD space.. and what seems to possibly be a worse AMD processor.
