I'm not playing it with sound, as I am currently at work. However, I thought this was really cool and wanted to spread the link around. Arrow keys move, space bar shoot, left CTRL opens doors. I couldn't figure out what key is used to strafe, but I haven't spent a whole lot of time with it yet.
The fact that somebody finally ported DOOM to Flash is the coolest part. Now if only they could add networking and allow me to play co-op! :)

Reminds me of when I bought the id Steam pack a few weeks back...went back to play Wolfenstein for nostalgia's sake...and wow...I suck at the keyboard.

I did the same. I found that I enjoyed DOOM and Wolf3d with the mouse, but I really hate how mouse-forward and mouse-backward make you walk. I totally get that there is no x-axis rotation in these games, but I would rather it do nothing. Assuming there is some way to modify the mouse controls, I will definitely be enjoying those classics during my holiday vacation.

Do the codes still work?
edit: yes... But the game runs way too sluggish for me.

JoyToKey (http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm).
The english version seems to be a few versions behind.

the control scheme is poorly executed, WSAD controls should be the modern standard, left and right arrows should turn you (you know, because moving your mouse w/ your right hand does that), and up should be "fire". tried and true set up on my laptop when I lacked the room for a mouse.
like I care though, Zdoom FTW. ...also it said configurable controls to come soon. the Q and E shit is just really a horrible location for the strafe keys.
These old games really are twice as fun when played on Zdoom IMO, the smoothness of the control lets you really capture the simple yet intense action that is at the center of Dooms core.

I'm a huge DooM fan, and have always preferred Doomsday Engine. Sure, it's more work to get fully decked out, but man it's so awesome to play one of the best games gussied up a bit while still retaining the original's feel.

Doom's a brilliant game really, but one you don't really appreciate until it's been tarted up a bit. Nab the Doomsday Engine and the jDoom graphics upgrades.
Doom in full 3d with standard mouse+keyboard controls is a thing of beauty. THat game still manages to freak me the fuck out at times even now.
What's odd is, I can't stand playing Doom or Marathon anymore with the old style controls, but in Wolf3d it doesn't really bother me at all. I used to be a die hard keyboard only guy too, owning bitches clear up to Quake II with only a keyboard, but it took a game console to change my ways, the N64 to be precise. C-buttons + stick look = WASD + mouse look.

I remember hearing about that before but I guess I never looked into it, I'll have to now, the full 3d thing sounds pretty awesome.

It is awesome. With all of the added pretties, the game starts to look like a shinier Unreal Tournament (the original, not III). The guys working on the DDE (both of them, up from the grand total of 1 that was making it when I last checked in on it) and the community who makes the textures and other addons pride themselves on keeping the DooM feel in everything.
What is it with putting doom on every platform possible? I guess you have to like the game to understand.

This is like when I first discovered I could watch porn on my cellphone. My wife was like, "Yeah, but why would you?" The only answer is, "BECAUSE I CAN!!".
After that, I came up with a law.
Mach Energy's Law: Anything with a screen capable of displaying raster graphics MUST have porn on it.
