Stephan King's "It" made me look at clowns and double check them to make sure they don't have long pointy teeth before I knock them in the balls and run. Clowns were afraid of me back then. :(

Exposure therapy, which is the usual therapy for phobias, is "less" intensive than other talk therapy. Although it's an "offshoot" of cognitive therapy, it's seen as a less stigmatized form of therapy from those receiving it or those who are seen receiving that form of therapy. So it's not so much someone telling you about your phobia, but how to lessen the phobia.

One of my cousins is a coulrophobe, and perhaps even more inexplicable to some people, another close friend of mine is cetaphobic - he has an intense, overriding, and irrational fear of whales. I myself had/have a spider phobia, but with help I have changed my way of thinking enough so that it no longer interferes with my life.

Phobias are interesting. I have a pop-up book, 'The Pop-Up Book of Phobias' that has a horrifying page for clowns, but the best page is the fear of heights - a building ledge pops up towards you so that you feel like you are looking straight down from atop a skyscraper.

Honestly, I carry around a notebook 24/7 (there's on beside my bed at night), and I write everything down.

That is the one remark to my memory: if I write it down (with a pen and paper, that is), I will not forget it...which kind of made it pointless to write it down in the first place. Still, it gives it plenty of time to stew in my head, so when I sit down to write a review, it is pretty much already done and floating around up there. And every book idea I've had just continues to grow and grow, which probably explains why I've never finished one (well, until now anyway).

People always seem so surprised by my appearance when they see pictures or meet me in slow time. Also, people tend to think I'm a thug when they see me, and then I open my mouth and surprise them with my cultured Oxford English accent. I'm lucky enough to work in an industry where I can look how I please. Woo me :D
