It's kind of a gag among a lot of gay people, including my friends and I. I wore a green hanky for Saint Patrick's Day so that I would have something green on, and a few of my friends were like "Oh, you're a prostitute now!"

People are generally taller now that our grandparents generation. Better food, better food at younger ages, etc. It was slightly more gradual here in the States, but if you go to places like Japan, it's night and day looking the younger generation vs the people in their 80s and up.

When I was living in Japan, little old ladies that were under 4'10" were a daily sight out in the countryside.

It's not just a matter of weight. The obesity epidemic aside, we are bigger, faster, and stronger than generations at the turn of the century. In high school, my friends and I that were on the track team used to get a kick of looking at early 1900's Olympic results, knowing that if we had a time machine we could go back and just simply dominate 90% of the track and field events as slightly above average high school athletes.
