I'm stuck in the spot of "over qualified" and "not qualified enough". It's almost impossible to get just "any" job because of my years of retail and management. Hence the constant over qualification. But I don't have a college degree especially the specific kinds required in today's markets. Hence the not qualified. That's over simplified, of course, but the basic idea of what I'm dealing with. I recently had three awesome interviews with a local company, thought I'd nailed it and the job was mine. After numerous, unanswered follow up calls over the past two weeks I got the hint.

The lousy economy makes this an employers market so they can be as picky as they like. I hear people say "Oh, just go get a job" like it's something easy to do. It's not. I have a friend who just graduated from law school and what is she doing? Temping because even she can't find anything!
