Expect tickets and OnLive hotel booking to go up at the end of the month and keep in mind three-day passes sold out in 22 days for Prime 2011.

Small tip: I saved about £600 (I paid £450/$600 for a week because like hell was I doing a 10,000 mile round trip for a weekend) on hotel room prices by staying a few blocks away from the WSCC. Amusingly, the hotel was right next to the Westin who wanted about 3x more money.

So, uh, anyone got some floor space? That's sorta the deciding factor right now. Usually they went up at the same time and didn't sell out in a ridiculous time frame (12 hours total for how long the system has been up before 3 day passes sold out, Homewood Suites, Sheraton and Red Lion all reported being sold out they day they went up)
I don't snore, I take up less space than I used to and am pretty chill, but I drink copious amounts of alcohol come PAX-time. :D

So the passes sold out in 4.5 hours today, and not to scalpers either. There was a limit of 5 per transaction, and the average was 1.74 passes per transaction. That was crazy fast. Still lots of one day passes available, but they are going quick too.

All PAX rooms appear to be sold out at the convention rate, so use other sources to secure lodgings if you haven't already done so.

Also, reports are stating that several flights are already full (is that even possible, do flights book this far in advance?)

It's gonna be a massive show this year. Can't wait! Hope to see you all there!

Guess Ill have to book my flight and hotel and hope I can get off for the end of august. Any recommandations for hotels? Looking into the hyatt as it sounds like it's pretty close to the convention center. Guess Ill have to make reservations soon though. Flights are going to be rough though, 12 hours from tampa to seattle? Guess that's why I haven't done any cross country flying recently.

You're probably not looking at the right flights if it's 12h. Hipmunk.com is telling me the shortest flights are about 6 hours including layover and cost about $400 for one way, which sounds about right coming from the east coast.

I really appreciate it, but the more I looked at it, it was cutting it very close anyway... my kid is due October 15, which puts PAX awfully close and I think I'd rather be closer to home for any shenanigans that could arise from that. The money is an issue too- it's just a little much, that close to the due date.

But I've been encouraged to go next year. This year, I will trade PAX for a much cheaper road trip with my brother, who is also likely to spawn a clone in the next year. A little bro time in California will be nice anyway.

There's a few parking garages near the monorail that charge flat rates for all day. That's only a few blocks away from the convention center. If you really want to park cheap. Find an all-day parking lot near the Space Needle, take the mono-rail (cash only), and walk the rest of the way to PAX.

Additional post: To the folks driving in to PAX, what's the best/cheapest place to park? I won't be staying in a downtown hotel, but will be driving in with friends every day.
Liquid: I've almost always parked at the mall nearby. It's the most consistent. There is ONE garage attached to the convention center that's a fair rate, but goddamn if that thing isn't full and closed down if you're not there bright and early.
Anyone have an idea of where I can scope around for a Sat ticket? I've got Friday/Sunday. If I can't get a Sat, that's fine, as I think I'd like to hit up the Air Museum and Aquarium, but figured I'd take a stab out there. =)
