Square Enix has pulled back the curtain on the countdown clock (http://bahamut.jp) and revealed some screenshots and a trailer for the upcoming DS game Blood of Bahamut. As well as a load of information regarding the gameplay and story (for those that can read Japanese).

Screenshot looks almost like Shadow of the Colossus in JRPG form.

That looks hot.....I'm assuming the US release date is far far away though.

That looks...spooktacular. The combat doesn't look very fun.

Siliconera has some actual game details (http://www.siliconera.com/2008/11/17/blood-of-bahamut-trailer-spilled-details-dropped/):
The crux of the conflict in the game is man versus giant beasts. Ibuki, the male character in the trailer, is fighting Gigant, a towering castle creature that was once Ibuki’s home. Ibuki and Yui, a woman who also lived on Gigant, set out to tame the enraged giants.
And Gigant is pissed. In the clip Gigant hurls boulders and shoots lasers out of his eyes. Ibuki can dispatch regular monsters with his sword, but Gigant will only fall if you hit weak spots (a la Shadow of the Colossus). Sometimes players will need to break parts of the giant off to reveal a weak point. Gigant won’t be the only giant you’ll fight. He is just one part of the 130+ missions in Blood of Bahamut. Missions are split into story missions and free play, both types can be played cooperatively with up to four people.

I think I may be underwhelmed so far. It did not live up to what I was hoping it could be. Still could be good, just need to see more.

I'm liking what I'm, seeing so far.
I'm still disappointed it didn't turn out to be a Bahamut Lagoon Sequel. Because, you know, there isn't like there isn't already enough TBS games on the DS that I don't have the time or money for... *cough*

Hmmm I'll have to keep an eye on this game. Here's hoping it could be good.
Squeenix's been hit'n'miss with more misses than usual lately so I'll probably pick this up if it gets enough favorable reviews... then again I didn't like TWEWY even though it got a lot of good press, so who knows.

Did you guys hear it? It...it sounded almost like purring... ;)
I'm excited!
EDIT: I just watched the trailer. Holy crap is that exciting. I like how thy make the boss so big it doesn't fit on EITHER screen most of the time. Also, they put those shots of the player getting hit in there a lot. This won't be your daddy's destroying a giant castle game...

It made me think of Brave Fencer Musashi + Giant SotC Baddies...
I think I need a tissue as a result of all that amazingness.
