I don't personally follow the CFL myself, but I'm sure some of my fellow Canadians do, so I figure we should really have a thread for it.
And might as well lead off with the Ricky Ray trade (http://cfl.ca/article/ray-day-argos-land-new-starting-qb). Everyone in Edmonton likes to take the piss out of Ray, but as I understood it, he's usually been a good QB, though he's had his share of ups and downs (being replaced more than once by Jason Maas). Is this a good deal for the Eskies? Will Toronto be less shit next year?

Prediction: BC Lions will suck at the beginning of the year before turning it around and winning the Grey Cup ;)

I have no concept of how that happened. They started, what, 2-6 or 1-7, then won eleven of their last twelve to win it all? Only in the CFL, man.

Lol even Canadians don't follow CFL. Football is my least favorite sport.

I'll admit, I watched the Grey Cup game, but that was it.
I watched more MLS games in the last year than CFL games in the last 10 years and I didn't watch a lot of MLS games.

Same. It also doesn't help that my hometown team the Argos have been terrible for years and almost every year the Alouettes win cause of Cavillo.

Edmonton was playing Ray $400k, so moving him will free up some cap room. He seems like the kind of QB most teams would want.
In return, they got
a kicker
a 29 yr old QB who has shown nothing.
A first round pick.
IMO, it's a good deal for Edmonton if Ray's arm falls off tomorrow.
Of course, this is the same franchise that drafted a Kicker at 1.02 a few years ago, so I've come to expect some headscratchers from Edmonton. :p
