Back when metal was truly metal, and Aerosmith was pumping out hit after hit. What was your favorite rock single of that era? Why?

Here's one that really blew me away when I first heard it--the harmony in the chorus really makes this song.

That is not an 80's song. It came out in 1990.

C'mon Dork, pick something that'll be up for a few minutes at least. ;)

Probably that bullshit restriction of not allowing users from other countries view music videos.

This is my dad's favorite song of all time--and it's one of mine, too.

This is the song responsible for me even knowing what metal is. Truly the 80s was about GREAT music with really terrible videos.

A close runner up would have to be Electric Eye by Judas Priest

If you want to embed a video, take the bolded text, and put it in youtube /youtube tags. Just add brackets.

Love this song.

Not really rock, but a bloody great tune all the same. Madness used to be so good.

I'm entirely gay for the 80's. If we weren't limited to rock, I'd flood this post with enough new wave to choke an emo kid.

I'm assuming Master of Puppets by Metallica. =)

I've GOT to go with this. Just the drum part alone makes me a happy monkey.

Queensryche - Eyes of a Stranger

Operation Mindcrime is still the best album ever made, 80's rock or otherwise.

It has been mathematically proven that Master of Puppets is the best album ever made, 80's rock or otherwise.

Metallica can't hold a candle to Queensryche my friend, even in their glory days. Master was an awesome album, but it gets spanked by Mindcrime.

You, sir, are what we call "crazy". If you continue this line of logic, I'm going to have to move you into the "bat shit insane" folder.

Yes sir I do wear a straight jacket, but Queensryche still owns Metallica.

You're both wrong--Maiden can whip Metallica and Queensryche any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
