I was having problems with Steam too - maybe the Internet Gods are angry!

Yeah, we were in the middle of finishing up wave 48 on Gears 2, and all of a sudden, everyone got logged off. Boooo.

Someone flushed their pet alligator and now it's clogging the pipes!
This was the G-rated response. I'm not in a sinister mood.

I think we'll see more of this when the NXE goes up next week. Hopefully it won't be as bad as last year. I had connection issues for weeks!

Been spiking all night.
I don't fucking know. Before you invited me to Left 4 Dead, I was getting disconnected every couple minutes. Since you put me on the spot, I'd suggest that this is due to a Microsoft-sponsored pre-NXE push to crash Live.

you know, i was playing WoW and getting some pretty rad lag spikes.

If we all start blaming these internet spikes on WOW the terrorists will win...
(it did sign me out earlier while playing GoW, so I stuck with single player)

I got signed out too, along with every one else on my friends list.
I'm sure it's completely unrelated, but my internet browsing has been VERY slow the last few days, and I keep getting disconnected from AIM (yet not losing my internet connection).
Is this a modern sign of the Apocalypse? (with Bruce Willis)

It's the beginning of the end boys, now that the zombie kings greatest invention "the internet" has successfully scrambled the brains of 80% of the human race it's time for phase 2 to begin. Unfortunately there are not enough resources to both keep "the internet" functioning and support the impending harvest so unfortunately your....err I mean "the internet" will be the first casualty of the
ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!

I was RB2 band battling on XBL tonight, and we were doing an awesome job, but two out of four songs in, we got an "error disconnected from LIVE" message :(

Major Nelson (http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/11/14/having-xbox-live-connection-issues.aspx) says they've noticed the problem and are trying to fix it.

I didn't have any problems, but a lot of folks on my friends list kept reappearing and disappearing.

If the NXE update goes through without a hitch it'll be a miracle. Switching 14 million members from one set of servers to another and everything that goes along with that is going to be very interesting for sure.

My friends and I did as well. Were you playing L4D? I think that the new update released yesterday has caused a lot of issues.
I did take the opportunity to pre-load the game though, at 800KB/sec. :D

The network will probably come screeching to a halt. I'm having flashbacks of last year's Fall update, which put my 360 out of commission for weeks. Hopefully the NXE update won't be the same way.

I played COD5 all last night and Gears 2 all this morning with zero problems. Maybe it's regional.

My 360 got the RROD today, so quit crying about Live being down! :p
In all seriousness, I'm going to spend my weekend playing PC gamers. Fewer problems there. ;)

That's why I think they are slowly moving folks over already. It's not a beta, it's just a soft launch.

I was playing both GoW2 and CoD4 today, and didn't run into a single problem.
However, I hold my head and weep for the situation that I'm sure the NXE will bring. What XBLA game are we getting for free this year? ;)
