Huge images on front page

This news post, still present on the front page, is driving me crazy:

Every time I go to the front page and the 3500 pixels wide images load the whole browser page gets screwed up until they are done loading.

Maybe it would be a good idea to limit the actual image size on the front page?

We'll try and keep that from happening again though.
