So apparently some guy used his mad karate skills to fight off a group of would be hoodlums. Check it out (http://www.koat.com/money/17979429/detail.html).

Louimar told police the men "could not compete with his karate."

So, legitimate Kung Fu master, or wierdo who got lucky?

This is more true and considerably more important than anything I put in the OP.

Oh, and I love that gif.

Damn that's cool. The stupid video on the site didn't link to any awesome karate moves though, just some other news story.

I love the way this was written. It sounds vaguely as if a 9-year-old witnessed it.

he knocked two of the men to the ground with what he called "karate chops."

That is really the main reason I felt compelled to post it.

The way I picture it in my head is some crazy ass transient looking dude just getting loose and trying his best to perform karate, and the attackers being wierded out and leaving him alone.

I liked how his response to a guy putting a gun to his head is to say "I'm a Karate Expert."

He's either the complete fucking man, or crazy as hell.

Something about this doesn't ring true...

Dude is lucky he didn't come across Sho'Nuff the Shogun of Harlem. Unless he had The Glow Louimar would have been hosed.

i don't get it... there were no apprehensions?

what is this story built upon?

did this guy go to the police station and say: "I just Karate'd 3 super-badguys, 1 had a gun, i'm awesome"?

Sounds like it.

If I could figure out who green-lit the remake I'd carpet bomb their house. Or at the very least send Leroy after them.

I think many would approve of this.

In a similar vein to this kind of unsubstantiated hilarity, a really great friend of mine was an intern at the Mayor's office in Las Vegas.

They had a guy call in saying that he was the Green Hornet, and would the mayor please give him a special permit to fight crime?

 They have permits that let you fight crime? I'm going to go start on my costume right now!

That is fucking hilarious. I once again cracked up here at work, and had to explain to the fellows here on the dock what was so funny.

Once again, blank stares all around.

I wondered if anyone else noticed the name of the store too. Not sure what to think of that name...

I'm with Fits/Jay...calling total BS, this man needs to take his meds. And yet, he got on tv...one more reason I don't watch local tv news...ever...

Fuck what you heard... Karate is saving lives. (http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/bronx/2008/11/11/2008-11-11_wannabe_thugs_nabbed_after_karate_grandp.html)
A 57-year-old Bronx man dusted off his karate skills Tuesday and turned the tables on three would-be robbers decades younger than him, police and the victim said.

I don't know which is funnier, that he seems to have lot control of his pants or that he looks like he's about to cry. I could insert a "he gonna get raped" joke, but it's just too easy.
