Okay, so, while playing this game, which is my vote for GOTY, I've noticed that the music in the game has been perfectly picked for the dark sort of black irony that is a Fallout signature.
That's a lot of praise...But I haven't given a shit this much about music in a game since Vice City, where the music was pitch perfect on ALL levels, in my opinion.
And that brings me to my point.
Recently, while hunting around for scavengable items, I was beset by Raiders. There were four, running at me with melee weapons. I killed two in VATS, and the other two were going to bludgeon me.
On the right, a bus.
On the left a derelict car.
I checked my HP and Armor (Power Suit, Helmet, full HP), and dropped a grenade at my feet.
Boom.
Crippled both legs, head, arm, and was at 1% health with two gigantic infernos where the bus and derelict car used to be. Oh, and Raider kibble all over the place.
And as I stared through the blurry mess of my vision, listening to my Geiger counter buzz at me with a warning that soon my balls would glow like white hot suns, I hear...
'I don't want to set the world on fiiiirre....I just want to start...a flame in your heart...'
And at that moment, that precise instant, this game became my favorite game ever.
Who else has had one of those?
