How about it? The multiplayer is amazing, and co-op is arriving in a few weeks. We should get together and pub stomp, or have a private game if there's enough of us. What day would be ideal for everyone?

YES. Hells yes. Not Thursday nights unless you want to do post-TF2.

I'd be interested, though I can't yet commit to a particular night because theatre is eating my life. If I can show up whenever it is, though, I will.

If we get a Party together to teamstack with, I strongly recommend at least one of you Tac up with me. If we all had both teleportation perks we'd be an unstoppable tide of Orks Space Marines.

Added you. I had no idea you were CoG at the time, though.

So, any thoughts on having a CoG-specific chapter and color scheme? It would be p. cool if we all rolled together with the same armor schemes and crap.

that would be pretty sweet to roll like that

OK, here's my shot at some CoG armor. Space Marine's got our night theme (sort of), while Chaos is all-out as usual. Hormagaunt Purple, Regal Blue, Sunburst Yellow, and Oxidized Copper for the Space Marine; M6 Corvus backpack is a must-have for its cog-like logo; and Tentacle Pink, Liche Purple, and the brightest yellow for Chaos.

I usually roll with custom colors myself, the CoG thing is just for when we're playing together.

My take on your Space Marine color scheme. I'll try the Chaos one later.

Yeah, my cousin loves the game and hijacks my computer to play it. I'd say he's responsible for 10 of the levels I gained.

My Chaos CoG outfit:

How can you stand to use that breastplate; isn't that the one with the daemon arsehole? It's far too distracting for me.

After yesterday’s patch to address PS3 matchmaking issues we are releasing Space Marine’s first patch for the PC today. This is aimed at addressing some of the issues that the community has reported since the game’s launch. We are working towards another patch to tackle more of the issues which will be released later.

We thank you for your patience as we continue to work to ensure Space Marine is the best gaming experience possible on all platforms.

Patch Notes:

Added mute all functionality and push to talk
Fixed ‘butterfly’ exploit.
Update matchmaking parameters to search for local matches longer.
Fixed a crash when cancelling a search
Fixed an issue where profile progress would not be saved properly if steam cloud was disabled. (http://www.spacemarine.com/forums/topic/6856)

FINALLY. I was getting sick of having to mute every other douchebag who leaves his mic and speakers running at the same time.

Oh thank god, why on Earth were those features not in by default? At least muting everyone via 360 controller is easy as punch.

The free co-op DLC is coming out this Tuesday. Problem is, so is Battlefield. I still want to get a group together if you Space Marine owners can tear yourselves away from BF3 for a night.

Shit is intense. A group including me and Lint got up to the final wave, but it was just nail-bitingly hard. You really can't use your multiplayer builds to play, it forces you to use the other, lesser used perks and weapons.

Lint of Death
10-26-2011, 06:21 PM
It's quite hard, yeah, but at the same time I felt like we could have taken it through the end of that (very last?) wave if I'd been a little more careful at the end. Learned the hard way that those mega nobz don't seem to flinch at all before my mighty Thunder Hammer, no matter with my triple hit, nor my Perk-boosted interrupts.

Also, between our two Exterminatus attempts, I personally killed over 1,000 Orks.

Downloading a 500MB update for this right now. Looks like it's the Dreadnought update.

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. Jan 18, 2012 – THQ Inc. today announced the second downloadable content pack for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is scheduled to release for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Playstation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC on 24th January (US) / 25th January (EU).

The premium add-on pack called The Dreadnought, adds a new multiplayer mode called Dreadnought Assault where both teams battle to capture a central location on the map and the winners spawn a player controlled Dreadnought. The Dreadnought is armed with an Assault Cannon / Auto Cannon, a Meltagun and a Power Fist / Power Claw and must capture points across the map to score points for their team. Once the Dreadnought is destroyed a new spawn point will appear.

The Dreadnought DLC also includes three new multiplayer maps Desolation, Dome Mechanicus and Chem Refinery, as well as new achievements / trophies and has a suggested cost of 800 Microsoft Points / US$9.99.

In addition to the premium add-on content all players of Space Marine will receive a new multiplayer Capture and Control Mode for free. Playable on all the game’s multiplayer maps, this team based mode challenges players to capture and defend locations around the map to score points.

Jim Huntley, Vice President of Global Brand Management commented, “Fans of Space Marine have been asking for vehicles for a while so we are delighted to be bringing the iconic Dreadnought and Chaos Dreadnought to consoles for the first time in this DLC content.”

Alongside this add-on content THQ will be releasing two new player skins for sale on the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network, Playstation® Network and STEAM. Players will be able to purchase unique Iron Hands and Death Guard skin packs for a suggested price of 240 Microsoft Points / US$2.99 each.

The Space Marine DLC content is scheduled to be available to purchase on Xbox 360, Playstation®3 and Windows PC on 25th January(US) / 25th January (EU).

Picked it up over the christmas sale and I've been enjoying it for the last few weeks. The online versus stuff is pretty entertaining, but I prefer Exterminatus. This Dreadnought update might just pull me away from the Ork hordes.
