They are VERY MUCH like a Twinkie, but add some frosting on top for added goodness.
There are also chocolate and raspberry zingers, which are less like twinkies.

Geez, you guys don't even know! Zingers are to Twinkies as Platinum is to Aluminum. The only category Twinkie owns is getting fried, since you can't, or at least probably shouldn't, try to fry a Zinger with the icing still on.
Also, forget the raspberry, which bears a taste of dread coconut. According to the Wikipedia, there is also a "Butterscotch". Sounds Can-ay-dee-en.

This is why the Reese's cup is one of the few bits of food to come out of the States that I can go near.

Those are berger cookies, and they are the best things ever. The cookie is like a cross between a shortbread cookie and angel food cake, it's really soft and not very sweet. The chocolate part is basically fudge, and there is at least as much of it as there is cookie part, if not more.
Basically, they are even more awesome than they look.
Apparently they're made by a Baltimore company, maybe that's why I can't find them in PA. I just found their website, and the cookies are made of (http://www.bergercookies.com/nutritional.htm) diabetes and heart failure. And apparently you can order them in 2 pound tins. Hmmm...

Xerxes won the thread with the Zebra Cakes. Definitely my all-time favorite snack cake product. Little Debbie rocks, and is dirt-cheap.
Only LD product that's better than a Zebra Cake is a Star Crunch, but I consider it a different category entirely. Same applies to Moon Pies, which are just fan-fucking-tastic in the tasty department. I try not to eat any of these though, since they aren't good for you at all... but damn are they tasty.
Ho-hos have tasted like poop ever since they ditcheed the silver foil wrappers. I don't know why. I think the elimination of the trans-fats hurt the flavor too. Something about ho-hos just makes them awful now.

According to the tubes, the Hostess brand was introduced in 1925, with Twinkies rolling out in 1930 for the first time. Little Debbie was founded in 1960 or very shortly after 1960. Little Debbie is definitely the knock-off as far as that's concerned.
But, in my opinion, they do make tastier snacks these days, because of Hostess' attempts at making their snacks a little less likely to stop your blood from flowing properly.
