OK, so I had mentioned in a previous thread (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?p=48644#post48644) that I came across a cool web site: SaveMyRatings (http://www.savemyratings.com/)

They offer a pretty cool free service for centralizing your movie/book ratings. For example, I am a member of Blockbuster.com and I have rated over 800 movies. I recently joined movielens.org and have had to re-rate many of the same movies. SaveMyRatings has allowed me to export my entire list of ratings from Blockbuster and import it into movielens, and the whole process was super easy. Currently, this site supports Blockbuster, Netflix, Movielens, IMDB, Amazon, and I think a couple more.

So, I dropped the author a line, just to give my thanks as well as inquire about other possibilities for his site. One of the things he is needing is more Blockbuster.com subscribers to use his service and validate that the database is functioning correctly. I mentioned to him that I could make a request on the forum I spend more than HALF of my day on, and he sounded happy about my offer.

So if anybody would like to help out a good cause, and at the same time help yourself, head on over to SaveMyRatings (http://www.savemyratings.com/) and sign up. Once you have exported your Blockbuster ratings, drop Alan a line at support@savemyratings.com.

BTW, I'm not getting anything out of this (in case it sounds like shilling). I just found this service to be useful, and the site owner to be friendly and polite. Consider this a "pay it forward" if you will, but by giving me ownership over my movie ratings, I feel like I'm just paying him back. :D

Yes. At least offer free movies and a pizza :). I'll go check out the site though...

Perhaps there COULD be free pizza involved. Maybe we should start a donation drive for pizza!
