I'm looking for a cheap WiFi adapter for the 360 and was wondering if anyone has any good recomendations. Ever since I moved in July it hasn't been connected online since I don't feel like crawling through my attic to run the wire.

I'd love to get one that would work with the PS2 as well, but that's not necassary. It doesn't need to be the best in the world, I won't be using it for online gaming anytime in the near future, just for general demo downloads, FFXI (which doesn't need a ton of speed), trailers, and messaging.

I'm hoping for the $30 range and I have nothing against picking one up cheap on eBay or something, I just don't really know where to start to look.

Cheapest I see on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=wireless+bridge&x=0&y=0) is like $70 for a bridge.

Looks like Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&Description=wireless%20bridge&bop=And&Order=PRICE) has a few in the $55-$60 range.

Bleh, that's what I was afraid of. It's really not worth it to me to spend the price of full new game on it. :(

EDIT: Actually, a few of those on NewEgg look like they're $25. Or am I looking at the wrong items?

I bought this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127053) and could not get it to connect to my wireless network. Rather than stress myself out over getting it to work I sent it back and got the official adapter. It works great, and it was plug and play. It only took the time to enter my WPA key. You could always run a 100ft cable (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10208&cs_id=1020801&p_id=148&seq=1&format=2) for $8.

Oh, I have a cable that will reach, but we put tile floors in when we moved into the house, so I can't exactly run it under the carpet like I did in our old apartment.

What about a wire channel (http://cableorganizer.com/wire-cover/)?

That's a good idea, but I have 2 doorways in between that would cause issues and running it along the floor in those doorways, even if covered, wouldn't be an option. :(

I don't think those ones have Ethernet ports on them to connect devices, it's only to extend an existing network.

Depending on the distance the cost of the wire channel could be as expensive as a wireless bridge.

When I first got my 360 I used a Netgear bridge and had nothing but dropped signal and and was constantly getting signed out of Live. I eventually ran a wire. I recently got a second 360 for my upstairs and wired would be a real hassle, so I opted for the wireless. I've had no issues with the 360. Like Goronmon says, it's expensive, but it works. You can get it for $83 on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter/dp/B000B6MLV4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1226594689&sr=8-1).

It looks like this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833180035) can be connected via ethernet, so that may work. And it's only $25, so that's a definite plus.

I was really just hoping someone would have some experience with a bridge other than the official one since so many people say you can just go out and buy one for cheap.

That one should work. I always recommend going wired if you're going to do any gaming, but since it'll just be for downloads and FF11, you should be good to go.

A couple of years back, I had a D-Link Access Point (DWL2100AP?) that pulled a signal from my D-Link router (DI624). Worked fairly well. You program the AP as a client and then you let it pull it's connection over the air and then the single ethernet port on the back gets connected to a hub and voila!

Now, some caveats...I found it couldn't handle streaming movies (it's not wireless N) and streaming audio had it's issues. Otherwise, gaming, etc was flawless. I played lots of COD3 without an issue.

Of course, I would always recommend a wired solution because I'm "old-school" and I'm lucky enough to be able to do a wired option for my 360 at my current home (PS3 and Wii are still wireless in another room).

$50 bucks, works perfect. Works on PS2, Xbox, 360, PS3 20 gig, GameCube, Dreamcast... anything with an Ethernet connection and no wireless.

For $25 it could be worth a shot.

Yeah, the problem is that the official one is the only UNPOWERED way to wirelessly connect your 360, and it's price has been declared a war crime by most independent nations.

I have that one. While it does work with anything, you'll need an Xbox or a 360 to set it up.

I have both, so that wouldn't be a problem. Maybe I can find it cheap in the used accessories section at EB or Play & Trade.

When I got mine, Circuit City had it marked as a clearance item. Maybe that's a sign of a cheaper wireless adapter on the way. That, or my Circuit City is going to close down. (My circuit City was not on the list of stores to close though).

Good effing luck. They're pretty hard to find. I was surprised to see it at Amazon.
