CoG Group picture @ PAX [Archive]

We've settled on a PAX Group picture time! It will be Saturday between 5pm-6pm in the lobby of the Convention center, (if we have the PAX shirts done, you're encouraged to wear them). Yes, we used to do it in the morning. Yes, we used to do it in the hotel lobby. We figure Saturday is the day most of the PAX goers will be in attendance, and doing it in the late afternoon doesn't have us waiting on anyone to "get up at at them" preventing people from getting a good place in the queue. And we chose the convention center because we're pretty much all going to be there already!

If any of this changes, updates will be sent out via the @CoGPAX twitter account, and on the CoGPAX Beluga pod (contact myself or Ghostbear if you want in on the Beluga pod).

As I tried to elude in the Beluga - I'd like to suggest the outdoor "smoking area" upstairs near mural-painting (near where the Intel booth always is, where the DeLorean was last year). Not immediately by the glass, but further out there's a little courtyard area that's usually pretty quiet.

The lobby (if you mean downstairs near the elevators) may be a bit high-traffic to get a good group photo - particularly with the size of our group this year we'll need a lot of space to do it? :o

At the very least, we can scope it out on Friday and make a decision via twitter/beluga for the final location.

We can do it up there, I think congregating near the entrance will be easier, especially for new comers who might not know where that is, then move as a group to take the picture together

So... this conflicts with the Acquisitions, Inc. panel, which concludes at 5:30. I don't know about the rest of you, but I do not plan to miss any of that thing.

We can push it a little later, I don't think we wanted to encroach on anyone's dinner plans for the evening, although a lot of us are doing the creole restaurant. If no one has objections, we can push the picture to 5:45

Unfortunately, the subsequent Buddha shot and the TF2 shot (on my camera at least) were way underexposed - sometimes a risk when you have other cameras/flashes going off at the same time. Maybe Liquid's got a better catch on those shots?

Wow, is anyone really mad at a little photobomb? Didn't we take more than a few official past photos with the "shocker" in it? Let's breathe deep and remember how awesome this moment actually was.

Also I think Jerry would see that and laugh. He himself actually remarked how neat it was to be invited to photobomb our group.

God, now that you pointed that out, I can't not imagine you with more than the appropriate amount of hands. It definitely looks like you have at least one extra there.

I really need to get up there next time. Now that I'm in the same state it is hard to ignore.

I was pushing my glasses back up (I had taken them off right before to clean them) right as I saw the flash and thought "well fuck, I hope that wasn't one of us taking the picture". Apologies to the one who actually took that shot.

Fun little side story, all of us walked from the other side of the atrium at the same time and there was more than a few people who stopped and stared in awe of the mighty CoG PAX11 army.

Bodged a couple of the pics together, had to correct for a few people closing their eyes. Jackel's hidden in back, but that end is really tricky to shop because some people shifted positions abruptly between frames. :mad:
