This was some great news to wake up to, Adriasang (http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/08/09/disgaea_3_vita_confirmed/) is reporting that Disgaea 3 has been confirmed for the Vita in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation. Details:
The game in question is titled Disgaea 3 Return (or possibly Returns). Nippon Ichi is making some improvements over the PS3 original, including the use of close-up character pics (seen in Disgaea 4), four new scenarios, and two new characters. All the DLC from the PS3 will be included.
That last part is bolded by me for emphasis. These games work so, so much better in portable form, I'm now glad that I never made it through the game in its original form. Can. Not. Wait.

People keep mentioning these games. What the heck are they? Internet don't fail me now!

I keep buying the console Disgaea games, never coming close to finishing them, then buying the portable versions, which I also never come close to finishing.

Still, I love the games for some reason and will probably get this one too. They are definitely better when portable.

They're strategy RPGs with a heavy focus on character building with a completely ridiculous storylines involving demons.

This is the trailer for Disgaea 4, which comes out in the US in September. It should give you a good idea of the game's..... sense of humor:

Disgaea 3 was fun, but of the three I did enjoy it the least.

With the amount of DLC games are getting these days it is good to see at least a small effort to not completely screw over consumers.

More from the Dengeki article (http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/08/09/nippon_ichi_ceo_interview/), the game will be playable at TGS.

You did know the original DLC on the PS3 was more expensive than the full game put together right:D?

Was it over there? I'm pretty sure over here it added up to $50, which is what the game sold for new. Either way it was completely ridiculous, with most of it being fluff aside from the Rasberyl episodes. I didn't buy any of it, so I'm glad to see it in this version, alongside 4 extra scenarios.

I know the feeling. These days I find myself having trouble getting excited about the ports of Nippon Ichi games. The difference is that I have played the hell out of most of their original games, and even the PSP ports of Disgaea 1 & 2. But the other ports that have come or are coming (Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, and now Disgaea 3) don't really get me interested. Especially since I'm more distracted by the impending release of Disgaea 4. Out of all of these, I think Disgaea 3 has the best chance of interesting me.
