...you mock me so!
Not only did I have a brain meltdown yesterday but nnanji's g/f, the most awesome and lovely lady she is, called me yesterday afternoon to tell me she had six...SIX...collector's editions for WoW Lich King that were not reserved and would I, perchance, like to purchase one come Wednesday at midnight?

Broke! No job! AAAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH!
It's ok...it's ok...I can fashion my own collector's edition exclusive pet out of tissue paper and glue...Bruce has markers I can use to color it...yeah...yeah...*sob*
Stupid fate.
(but thanks for thinking of me pre-mrs. nnanji!)
If it helps you any, I just quit WoW, so we can be non-collector's edition people together?

You know, I've tried WOW several times and never could get into it....now with Bioware's KOTOR mmorpg coming I'm afraid it will never get hold of me.

S'ok, I can't afford it either. :( I can't justify the monthly fee with my finances as they are, much less a super-fancy collector's edition of an expansion pack. Ah well... I'm sure there will be a collector's edition of the next expansion a year or so down the road, and I might be able to afford that one!

Having quit WoW I swore of MMOs for sake of my marriage and my wife's sanity but after seeing the Bioware one I got really really nervous. I may have to allow my wife to see other people.

You are not the first to make that bargain, my friend, and you won't be the last. But, trust me, the pain goes away after a while and you become used to the new man, possibly named Phil or Jack or even Steffan, who will occupy most of your wife's time. The pain will go away because you know...know...that the uber phat purplz that you spent 10 hours raiding for on the anniversary day of your marriage this year will sparkle and glow hotter and fieryer than any marriage ever could!

You make a very good point sir. And I don't think I could begrudge any woman who could have herself a Steffan. Might take me a while to get used to him conducting his own raid but as you say, I'll have my swords to comfort me.

Well, some days you just have to suit up and tackle the beast.

I'm only afraid I won't be able to secure a collector's edition come tomorrow night. I'm sure everything will be fine, though.
I hope 8-(.

Does your wife know you refer to her as "the beast"? One that requires a "suit up" for the "tackle"? :D
Then again, she'll be with Steffan soon so I guess it's a rather moot question on my part.

Yeah, I'm just trying to get her in the proper mood for him. It's the least I can do though I somehow can't help but feel I'm on the losing end of this deal.

Hell, I can't even get the normal version until I am working. I've told everyone I can in my guild that anyone who links cool new gear, items or quests to me in a tell (because I'll have guild/general/trade chat off) I will find them and shave their cat or child or whatever living creature they hold dear which is cute and cuddly with fur but won't be without.

Lol I hope she's reading this thread cause the imagery of it, to me, is hilarious. ;)

I can't help but feel that some of what you are insinuating here would be considered sexual harassment, unless she was quite alright having her hair shaved off.

Hey, that's the penalty for telling Big Daddy Mo about phat new purplz (or whatever the next level is in Lich) after being explicitly told not to. They know what they are doing.

I never tried it, and I couldn't get into it either...you know, just in case you were wondering what the other end of the spectrum looked like.
In truth, I've thought about starting before, but my boss always manages to talk me out of it. Probably for the best, too. Considering the amount of time I've spent in games like Elder Scrolls and GTA, it's fair to assume that if I got hooked on WoW, the (offline) world might never hear from me again.

If anyone is not sure if they'll be getting the CE, I know my local Fry's will be getting a bunch. I can pick them up and ship, all you'd pay is for the purchase of the game. Just offering my services.

Gotcha beat; I've been THE Fallout geek amongst my crew for years, and I've only been able to play Three on my buddies filthy consoles because my stupid ass lost my job just before I was supposed to start buying new compy parts.
Meanwhile these sons of bitches are flaunting their bobbleheads. Only consolation? One cocky SOB thought he was getting the Survival edition so he could wave his PIPboy in my face, but OH NOES! He screwed up and got the special edition.
SO, if I can get a job, get caught up on my bills, get the new CPU/GPU/MB/RAM and THEN get the Survival edition before they sell out, I'll still be the king. Until then, just playing Fallout 1 on gametap.
And weeping. My god, the weeping.

I feels yah, Dylon. With my RRoD 360 (that I finally sent out yesterday) there's no Gears, Fable 2 or Fallout 3 for me (and I'm as much a Fallout geek as you it seems). My roomie has been playing Fable 2 and Fallout 3 with the stipulation that if I hear anything of any consequence for those games coming from his room I will evict his ass so fast he won't know what happened! :)
Of course, the nice thing is that once I do get my 360 back I already have copies of those two games in my house, up in his room and there's no lock on his door when he goes to work or school! Muahahahaha! :D
But, in an ironic twist, I've managed to scrape....scccccrrrrraaaappppeeeee...together enough dough to get the regular edition of Lich tonight. At least I can enjoy Lich till my Tree'Citi is back.

Oh sure, so you can sell them on ebay and flaunt the pet in my face? Not likely, bucko boyo! If I have to suffer, you have to suffer! Suffer not selling them on ebay cause I'm sure you already have a collector's reserved. lol Bastard.

My friends (and I question that term more and more) wouldn't stop shouting spoilers at me every time I entered a room until I sat down and played through to Megaton and the raiders in the school. Which is a bit like letting the crackhead lick the pipe.
Off topic, I'm starting to think we need an "Employ a Colonist" thread. Like, bad.
