Anyone know how to copy list views so I don't have to do all of these column orders and sorts by hand?

Now that you've brought it up...ditto. And I got nothing, too.

Ouch. Inheriting someone's legacy. Been there, I feel you. Sorry I'm not any help.

I crushed the Sharepoint implementation idea when it was brought up in a meeting at my place. :o

The thing is, Sharepoint is better than a lot of the alternatives. It's a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to do stuff like make team-specific sites, develop customized help/work desk systems, or even maintenance systems on Sharepoint than it is to spend 5-6 figures on making some big commercial app do each job.

One of the guys at my work is a pro at Sharepoint. He's built multiple work request systems, ftp/web sites for experimental units, and he's currently working on a document control system.

(I'm just glad I'm the storage/backup/hardware guy, so *I* don't have to deal with it. :D)

Zrikz, if you can explain your problem a bit more clearly, I'll pass it on to my colleague and see if he can help you.

Going from memory here, not at work again until Monday.

In the site administration there is a section for lists. Lists are made up of columns of data, etc. The view pages are what look to be pretty much just display pages to format the data by query.

Well, we have a site that is already made, and we pretty much copied everything, but we have had to do it by hand. Now we need to copy all of the view pages to make those the same as well (a testing site for the main page).

Things to keep in mind, we can't use any external applications for this and I have limited access to ftp, etc... gotta love the army.

I'll pass it on and see what he says.

Our sharepoint guys say you can save the lists/views or even the whole site as a template, and then you can import them into your new site.
