Games which you can play online on the Wii are pretty rare. But are you ready for a WiiWare game with 4 player online play? That what Hudson Soft is promising with Snowboard Riot, and even better, the game will also allow you to use the balance board. The game itself seems like a cross between SSX and Mario Kart, with tricks and stunts being executed while dodging weapons and other power-ups.

Pricing and availability for the game were not announced.

Wondering just how rare, I decided to ask Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_Wi-Fi_Connection_games).

Also, one Tuesday night / Wednesday morning, at around 2:00 AM, I popped in Battallion Wars 2, and clicked on the WiFi button. In less than 2 min, I was playing co-op with someone else, and having a blast.

Despite being the black sheep of online gaming, people actually use the Wii online, even on niche titles.

Edit: Here's a better list of Nintendo WiFi games for Wii (http://www.nintendo.com/games/guide#qhardware=Wii&qesrbRating=&qplay=wifi&qgenre=&qrelease=&panel=qhardware&sortBy=releaseDate), straight from Nintendo.

A snowboard racer that you use weapons in?

Is this game called "Snowboard Kids"? No?

Then I do not care.

I'd like to see more of this kind of stuff come across WiiWare. I'd check this out, if I had any money to buy Wii Points. (Damn you, Fall releases!)

Ha! I loved Snowboard Kids. The single player was ass, but the multi was tons of fun. Used to love playing that in combination with Mario Kart 64. And surprisingly, those old WCW games even though I wasn't into wrestling.

Oh 64, how I loved thee. :(

Hunh, that doesn't look half bad. Hopefully it's an attractive price and gets a decent online following.

Also, hopefully it comes out after they give us a storage solution so I can actually download it. I still didn't get Tetris Party because I'm unwilling to delete World of Goo. Sigh.

That's pretty awesome, I just picked up BW2 used a month or so ago. Might have to take it online after I get the hang of it and try that out. Tiger Woods '09 on the Wii kicks some serious ass online, if you're into that sort of thing. Doesn't even use friend codes!

Other online Wii games that I can vouch for playing A-OK:

Super Mario Strikers
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 (also no friend codes here)
Endless Ocean
Mario Kart

I'd list Smash Bros, but we all know that one does NOT play A-OK online. ;)

Oh snap!
I should get this for the LAN Party!
