Just a heads up, EVE is in the middle of transitioning to its latest expansion, Quantum Rise. Server's should be coming up later today/tonight.

Notable features include corporation medals, skill certificates, weapons grouping, additional UI flexibility and broad changes to all ships and equipment to normalize speed in-game.
Also, once the servers come back up, Colonial Enterprises, Inc. [COG.] will be accepting applications from any members of the CoG community. (thread (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1885))
Also! Details are coming out of FanFest 2008 as to the scope of the next expansion in March 2009, and it sounds like a huge one. Tech 3 ships are being introduced alongside a ton of other features including wormhole exploration. They've also signed a publishing deal with Atari to get boxes of EVE back in brick-and-mortar buildings for the first time since 2003.
Initial details on "EVE's biggest expansion" are available from the Eurogamer article here (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=287282).
