I posted this at piri also.

I unfortunately do not have the oppurtunity while in school to play wow and I thought I would call upon the wisdom of everyone here to enlighten me on the state of enjoyment of the game. I played all summer but had to stop at the end of august. My main question isn't what has changed but do you like it?

I started playing again a few weeks ago. It had been about a year since I last played. I'm not sure what's changed but I love playing again.

well i'm playing. but i've actually just started for the first time.
well, not quite true. i did play for about 6 weeks when it first launched.
so i can't really comment on the patch. which... kind of makes this a useless post. move along.

I just started playing again after about a 1 year hiatus. I am really enjoying it, and part of me (just a small part) wishes I didn't leave.

The servers are having some issues right before the wrath release, being down pretty much 7am est to 12am est yesterday and they are coming down again this morning. It is slightly worry-some, but since I am in computers myself, I tend to have a lot more patience and understanding than a lot of others.

A couple things I've noted:
- Gold is disgustingly easy to earn, and probably has been for a while.
- Some of the new talents are disgusting, some underwhelming. I don't think we will really see the balance until 80.
- Paladin's were nigh unstoppable for a short while, and have been nerfed already.
- Fire mages are probably the highest DPS.
- Warlocks are considered one of the worst classes at the moment.
- The achievement system is kind of awesome, but I am a completionist and this kind of thing is really right up my alley.

There are a LOT of changes that I can't even think about this early in the morning that have made a huge improvement to the game. No one is ever completely happy, but I find myself really looking forward to the expansion.

Hope that helps you at least a little.

Thanks. I'm sad about the warlock situation cuz that's my main. Oh well things will probably be completely different by the time i can get back into it.

heheh gotta mention the first level 80 was a warlock due to messing with a Afflic / Demon build so you can string insane amounts of mobs with zero downtime.

As far as I know, he also had a Priest that didn't join his group but kept heals on him at all times so that he could just life tap all day.

Yeah they had a priest helping them out, but it wasn't like the previous first to hit level 70 during BC who had a raid helping him out. Tag mobs, raid kills mob, etc.

At anyrate, I'm enjoying it. I'm actually waiting for all the Northrend content for the new Deathknight which should hit 65 today. 3 more levels after that, and i'll be boating over to Northrend at 68. I have 2 70's and a 68 otherwise, so all of them could do northrend but I want to experience the content fresh as a fresh character. Good times.

DK's are pretty fun once you get a solid rotation down, and can put out some decent DPS. We did a 5 man DK group in ramps the other day when I was still 61, that was fun, only died 4 times. Though some DK's really blow.

I'm actually waiting to see what level I see the DK population level out to something less than what it is now. Not sure who's going to stick with it, or who will be good enough to progress with it. I haven't done any PvP yet though, that'll be interesting once I start it.

Have they put in dual speccs yet or is that still coming? That was one of the few things I was interested in for my Druid when I played.

It's supposed to be put in with the next major push in 3.1. As is, it's not in yet.

- Warlocks are considered one of the worst classes at the moment.

Why is that? My main is a 47 Warlock. I just started playing again after a year off so I guess I wouldn't notice what's bad about them right now.

Yeah my main is around 40 but next cycle I'm going to get him up to 80 so I can actually do the end game stuff. I'm hoping the BC stuff isn't all ghost town by the time i'm back in over winter break.

Yeah, I'm playing a 62 lock and a lot of the spell changes made my Affliction build a lot more powerful, so why are they considered one of the worst?

I'm assuming they mean worst for PvP, or maybe raiding, which I haven't tried yet.

Warlocks are so not considered the worst class. They're still one of the more powerful ones in the game.

I have a DK up to 67 right now and I love every bit of it. They are very easy to level, yet still fun.

Can I have my spider back, please?

I have resubbed, after a hiatus of several months, and am thoroughly enjoying Death Knight.

My problem with DK varies with Server. On mine they constantly whine about not being able to find groups for instances in Outlands.. I'm like you guys are out in OL in droves.. what do you expect.

For the record I have a level 58 Gnome DK named Fondle me. So if you ever see him in the BGs.. you know it's me.

I have three friends playing, well i say "playing" but really what they're doing is waiting in line.. since they usually have a 2-3 hours wait to get on the server with about 600-700 people in front of them whenever they really want to play... kind of lame if you ask me... paying a monthly fee and never getting to play... fail

Thankfully my WoW addiction stopped just about a week before Halloween. Probably won't even try Lich King (I was in the beta anyways) until spring next year.

As they should be. From day 1 they were the "glass cannons". In raids (when I was playing my fire mage), I always had to throttle back to not pull aggro and spent far more time trying to get my mana back than other casting classes, so it's not exactly something to be jealous of. I also died, far more often as a fire mage, you wear a larger target on your back and more than 1 mob at a time usually meant death.

I have to say that everyone should at least play through the Death Knight starting area. It's a very impressive experience. The guys at Blizzard keep getting better and better with their quest chains, especially when they can closely control the zone.

I concur. I thoroughly enjoyed the DK area, some of the quests were really very fun, especially the, ahm, flying bit.

I'm wondering how badly DK will be nerfed, I know it's a "Hero" class, and is arguably supposed to be powerful, but at the moment I am feeling fairly overpowered with a level 62 Unholy/Blood hybrid spec.

I hope they nerf DK down a bit. Everyone I talk to who is bringing a DK up through Outlands is raving about how they can take on hordes of mobs and not even break a sweat. As someone focusing on leveling my main through Northrend I don't look forward to the wave of DKs soon to break on the shores.

Healers are the only ones who don't seem to need to fear being replaced by DKs. I'm sure you'll see dungeon groups made up of four DKs and a healer.

There have been several, succesful, 5 man groups of DK's through the Ramparts on my server.

I'm really enjoying the new content. I quit in March this year after playing non stop since the game's launch and even before in the beta. By this time my main was covered in head to toe in Tier 6 epic items, epic flying and ground mounts and a bank balance that puts the US trade defecit to shame. OK that last part was stretching it a bit but you get my meaning.

My only gripe is that the gear I'm finding in Northrend doesn't stack up with what my character has at the moment so I'm getting so much vendor fodder right now. I'm sure this will change as I hit the late 70's mind you.
