Pretty happy right now. Went off to the local big box store (Future Shop) to pick up Gears of War 2 and stumbled across No More Heroes for a measly $19.99. That's a price point I can't argue with. I was going to grab Boom Blox too, but decided I had spent enough as it is.

I'm hoping this will be a good game. I played his previous game, Killer 7, but had a hard time getting into it. Will this dethrone Zak & Wiki as the resident disc in my Wii?

So...any tips?

Start on "mild" difficulty.

Don't take it too seriously.

Enjoy! :D

There are a lot of moves the instruction booklet doesn't tell you about, and the repetitive nature of the gameplay becomes a lot more fun with moves in your repertoire. Also, the motorcycle can do slides around turns and shit, that they also never tell you about. I highly advise reading the beginning of an FAQ from GameFAQs just to get an idea of some of the advanced move sets - I discovered a jump attack when I was 3/4 of the way through the game that became my constant finisher. Also, learn to use wrestling moves, they are fun, deadly, and will save you in group battles.

Make sure you have the volume on your Wiimote turned up a little, it makes lightsaber sounds and works as your cell phone. As in, a chick talks to you from out your Wiimote.

It's a repetitive game with a lot of charm. I loved it so much I beat it again on hard immediately after I finished. The boss battles are incredibly long, go into them with patience.

Aha...that comment finally made me look up how to adjust the volume on the Wii-mote...the silly bell in My Life As A King was annoying me to no end...especially during late night games where everyone else is sleeping.

I picked this up for a similar price from Target not too long ago. I didn't get too far into it before my attention went back to schoolwork, but it's certainly near the top of my to-play list for the holiday break.

Zack & Wiki is in the same situation.

I love the boss battles in this game, and the build up is nice too. I could have done without the boring world map crap, but it was a price I was glad to pay to fight those awesome bosses.

Training at the Thunder Ryu building is a cheap way to increase your effectiveness out there.

If you get enough Balls, I'd recommend the dash upgrade...it's a great help!

Try to invest in every Beam Katana upgrade whenever it becomes available, especially the Accelerator upgrade.

Its wise to not turn up the Wii Remote volume too high, unless you want to hold it away from you head when you get calls.
