And so it ends. Well, so it will end. This is the last week we'll be onslaughted with AAA titles like Mirrors Edge, Call of Duty: World at War, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, and Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.

Oh, right. And World of Warcraft expansion.

Yes folks, the fall season of gaming releases is finally coming to a close, and after over 550 games...yeah, thank frickin' god. Seriously...publishers? Throw us a frickin' bone.

So now we play the catch up game. We attempt to finish the Fallouts, the Fable 2s, the Gears of Wars.

Well, there's one more AAA title coming (for me, at least). Persona 4 comes out December 12. Just in time for finals week. Makes me tempted to make all my tests multiple choice. Chrono Trigger for the DS is also coming at the end of this month.

But I'm glad that it's slowing down. That means that my stack of games I want to buy and play at least won't be growing as fast for a little bit.

I'm very curious about Eternal Poison, coming this week. The art style is interesting, and Atlus always has me by the balls with their pre-order bonuses.

Speaking of Atlus, I finally broke out Dokapon Kingdom this weekend, after having it sit on my coffee table for about a month. That game is surprisingly addicting. I kinda regret opening it up.

A question to anyone that gets it: Does anyone know if the Firefly Blu-Ray set has better navigation than the shitty DVD's. You know, something like a "play all" button? I'm not really crazy about it, but if it navigates better my wife would like to get it when it gets cheaper.

I played the Mirror's Edge demo, and that was enough for me. I'm not much into action games, so I'm sure this has been said before. But it felt like a first-person Prince of Persia game. I must admit, if my character is doing all these neat acrobatic stuff, I think I'd really rather be able to see them doing all the neat stuff. But I also don't play first person games much at all, so I'm predisposed to be hesitant.

I've beaten Fable 2 and enjoyed it a lot. Too easy though so i've traded it in already for when NFS:Undercover comes out. Beat GoW2 on hardcore with a big co-op stint on friday. Great game and i'm looking forward to playing more Horde and multiplayer.

Still have yet play Dead Space but can't wait. I need to get some Endwar in also.

Its been bad. I had to create a freaking spreadsheet in order to keep track of all the games that I want to keep an eye on this fall. So far I've purchased Rock Band 2, Little Big Planet, and Fallout 3. I've vowed not to pick up anything else until I clear up my backlog, so nothing for me this week.

So i'm not the only one who does this? I have that same figure and did the same...never touched the game so far. I bought GOW 2 for the Lancer...which is totally over the top. I can't wait to have my own home to display it in my gaming room. I bought a few games this fall due to pre-order instead of just renting. I'm not sure the total but i'm sure it's close to $500 in games. And all sitting waiting to be played...

Man, I used to be a total sucker for that stuff. I still am if I really want a game, but with two kids now, I don't have the time/money to get it all anymore. Especially with EP, since I really know next to nothing about the actual game. I do love me some JRPG soundtracks though, so it was still tempting.

That, and Atlus has been so hit or miss lately, I just can't bring myself to grab one of their games anymore sight unseen. They used to be almost nothing but quality, but lately that hasn't been the case, they've been releaseing some real stinkers.

Oh, I love a good action game, especially the first person variety when done right since that can be very immersive. Yah, it's not get 5/5's in the video columns. It's nice, but doesn't sound worth the extra expense of Blu-Ray, especially if you own the SD-DVD set.

The high definition picture was rendered with good overall resolution that featured bold contrast, punchy colors, and lifelike complexions. Fine detail wasn’t always conspicuous from scene to scene which resulted in images appearing less delineated at times. On the contrary there were many instances where the picture had good sharpness and definitive clarity. Whites were overcooked which washed out the presence of detail. Blacks were deep and mildly crushed so that subtle gradations were harder to detect. Detail in the shadowy and dark confines of ship was apparent but its quality was scene dependent. Grain is present and its rendering varied. The ending scene in the opening of Serenity Part 1 exhibited a strange flash of mosquito type noise that covered the entire frame. Dark scenes and backgrounds seemed to highlight grain which made it appear uneven and thereby distracting. Its was visible during lighter sequences but was better resolved and natural in appearance. Having seen the show in high definition on Universal HD this presentation was reminiscent of what I saw then.

Allow me to talk you down from the edge. Getting the original alone for free is worth it. But although the demo showed it being heavily on erector set building, I felt while it's going to play into some of the gameplay, it's still a rare platformer at heart. If you are a fan of Rare's platformers, then stay. I would stay anyway cause the game will be fun from what i played. As for to much stuff...when you finish some of your backlog in a few weeks, coming to something such as BK will warm your gamer heart. Just some good pure platforming goodness. Don't make me come to Maine to take your PS3 hostage :).

Just discovered EB Games here in Aus have started the pre-order bonus to get the original on Live. They're also selling it for the (for here) reasonable price of $70.00.

It is, but that's Australia. Games regularly retail for $100+, which would sit around the 70/80 mark for North America. I very, very rarely buy from brick and mortar stores these days and do most of my shopping online from play-asia.

At the moment the exchange rate is killing me and games that would normally be $50-60 Aus are $75-80. Nuts and Bolts in a shop here is only marginally more expensive than buying online at the moment, plus I get the pre-order bonus and don't have to wait 2 weeks postage.

Yeah, it's the same with me. And the delivery estimate is between Nov. 24th and Dec. 1st. But the last several times I ordered something from Amazon it shipped and arrived much faster than their estimates, so I'm hoping this will as well.
