Aussie Deal: FC 2, FIFA 2009, Midnight Club 3, SR2 and Smackdown 2009

Hi all,

Just saw over at the PALGN forums that on Saturday, November 15th, Big W is doing a "ONE DAY ONLY" sale for the titles listed in the subject for $68 each.

Pretty damn good deal. Unfortunately, if your Big W is anything like mine, you'll have almost zero chance of getting any of them because they simply won't have them.

However, you can go to an EB, Game or maybe even JB and try to get them to price match over the phone (no mention was made about a catalogue or pamphlet drop for this). Of course, you'll have to hope that someone on the phone actually knows what the hell is going on...so yeah...

Anyway, thought I'd pass it on, hopefully this one's good for somebody.

Like I said in my last post in this thread, Gears of War 2 isn't on special, it's Far Cry 2, there was a mistake. Gears of War 2 is still on special for $76 which can be price matched anywhere. The new games (of interest) on sale on Saturday are as follows...

- Far Cry 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3 - $68
- FIFA 2009 for Xbox 360 and PS3 - $68
- Midnight Club Los Angeles for Xbox 360 and PS3 - $68
- Saints Row 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3 - $68
- Smackdown 2009 for Xbox 360 and PS3 - $68

I keep wanting to buy it, and at the price Big W is offering, I may do exactly that. I used to love playing the old FIFAs with friends.

The two Big Ws near me rarely have ANYTHING they advertise in their catalogues. At the moment they're doing GOW2 cheapest at $74ish(?) (please don't quote me on that).

Just grab a catalogue and get it price matched. As for the sale, like I said, no idea if they're advertising it, but you could always call up and see if any of the dunces working there what the price is, then try for a phone match (EB and Dick Smith usually do this without a problem).

That is indeed a good price, the first I've seen in a long time that's cheaper than importing (playasia + current exchange rate gets you GOW2 at 72 AUD not including shipping), but that's probably more due to the crappy exchange rate than anything else.

Adding to that list though to kinda make up for the Gears of War 2 fluff-up is that Far Cry 2 is $68.
