...who needs the intrawebs!
Why is downloading demos on consoles such a pain in the butt? I downloaded the PS3 demo of Mirror's Edge twice, It took 7 hours both times and it gave me error while installing, both times. Then I tried downloading on the 360 and the speed is complete ass! in one hour I had only 5% of 1000 MB. WTF?!?!?

Well, I would look to your router. It certainly didn't take me that long, and if the install was corrupted, it sounds like there was a problem with the data transmission.
I think the Mirror's Edg demo on PS3 took me about an hour to download, a little less. 45 mins or so.

I have a pretty crappy connection speed (DSL) and I got the Mirror's Edge demo in about 30 minutes. So I wouldn't say your experience is representative of what downloading on consoles is like. Might want to check into doing some port forwarding.

I actually get better speeds when downloading on my 360* than on the PC that's 2 feet away from it. I think you may want to check your router config, it sounds like you may have your consoled blocked in some fashion.
On second thought, when a really popular download becomes available on the 360, speeds can tank and errors increase, but that hasn't happened to me in at least a year.

My 360 is just as fast as my PC in my experience. The PS3 on the other hand, is slow as fuck, but I think it's due to it being broken in some way. It keeps disconnecting and I have trouble connecting at all sometimes. I don't see any reason for the consoles being slower.

My router config works for my PC, why wouldn't it work for my 360? I'll look into it!

I downloaded the same demo on my 360, took less than an hour.

My downloads all fly on my PC, 360 and PS3. Then again, I have my setup properly configured.
Nobody thinks "Location: Karachi, Pakistan" has something to do with it?

i have a 1.5mb connection and it only took me 30 - 40 mins to download....check your isp and your network setup (modem, router, etc)

Do you torrent? That can severely destroy your download speeds. Quick solution: Paucse all torrents while you're on XBL.

My PC, 360 and PS3 all download at my full bandwidth.
I've never had a problem with any. I get 1.2 MB/s.
Meanwhile, I have a friend who's not 2 miles away, who gets terrible download speeds on his PS3. We both have RR and the same bandwidth caps. His 360 and PC download at full speed. He's always complaining about how slow stuff downloads on his PS3 though. Maybe they used different components or something.

My 360/PS3 both pull down demos faster than my PC does most of the time. Not much, but it's noticeable.
