Hey guys, I just picked up a DS today along with Professor Clayton and Hotel Dusk. I've been so addicted to the former I have yet to open up Hotel Dusk, the main reason I bought a DS! I've never bought a puzzle game in my life before today, but now I'm super addicted. Are there any other puzzle/brain teaser type DS games out there anyone recommends?
Thanks in advance!

Meteos is probably the best the DS has to offer. Tetris DS is also great (it was super expensive, but I think it might have gotten a reprint just like Hotel Dusk did, but maybe not). Other worthwhile titles: Puzzle Quest, Picross DS, and Planet Puzzle League. That will keep you busy forever, me thinks.
Katslover gave you a good list of puzzle games. You may want to look into the Brain Age series too.

Picross DS is a must. Also, if you're into the traditional stuff, Crosswords DS and Gridmaster Sudoku are great. One of my other favorites is Polarium.

Open Hotel Dusk when you think you will put time into it. It's such a great game, you really want all your attention for it. And once you get past Hotel Dusk, pick up Time Hollow. And Tracer. And after that I need the powers of Spigot to help me remember the other games I at the moment can't recall...

I second Picross...such an amazingly simple yet complex game...one of my constant "go to" games.

Another vote for Picross. Do a search online to play some sample puzzles of it to see if it's something you would like. Also, Puzzle Quest is another good one.

Picross is fucking evil. There's not much else like Professor Layton, but there are two other games in the series which haven't been released in the US yet.

Picross was great, and I was a really big fan of New York Times Crossword Puzzles.

Can't turn down Picross after all these suggestions. I'll be looking into these, thanks!

Also, while not a puzzler, if you enjoy the humor of Professor Layton and the storytelling of Hotel Dusk and can deal with some Lucasarts-esque (think Monkey Island) silliness in your gaming, Insecticide (http://ds.ign.com/articles/859/859080p1.html) might also make you smile.
As the not-so-keen-on-it review indicates, the action parts of the game are subpar at best, but the adventure gaming is really well done and has a fun, unique flavor, and the visual flair of the game is really appealing to me.
I wouldn't put it at the top of your list, but keep it in mind if you see it in a bargain bin.

...He said in the first post that he bought that first and already totally loves it.
Granted, he called it Professor Clayton, but still, it's pretty clear he's already on your boat. ;)

Puzzle Quest is amazing, and the "quest" element keeps the puzzle game from getting old when you're fighting an orc for the 75th time. Should be really cheap as well. I think there is a PC demo out there somewhere, or you can check out a demo on XBL or PSN.

Well, Ravenlock, he might have accidentally bought the Japanese rip off,
PROFESSOR CLAYTON

I don't get it. Prof. Layton was developed by a Japanese studio - Level 5.

Buy all of these games, Reverant. I'd be willing to play you in Puzzle League if you'd be interested.
