Just finished my new build, and have most of the kinks out, but one. I'm using an SSD for windows, and a 1 TB drive for everything else, but while the BIOS sees both drives, Windows only sees the SSD. Anyone have any ideas?

Try looking in Disk Management to see if Windows detects it. If it does, you simply have to initialize it.

Right click My Computer> Manage> Disk Management.

EDIT: Initializing the hard drive will wipe any data if there is any. My suggestion assumes this is a new hard drive.

Thanks, that worked. I usually build simple systems with just one disk, the last time I added a second one was several years ago, and I completely forgot.

Internal across the SATA connections, or external with a USB hub interface in windows system pref? You can check to see if its initialized as Violent said and if it is, check your system settings hardware profile for errors just for the sake of covering all your bases. Sometimes you may have to go into windows and assign it a drive letter. IN the last 7 months my windows 7 machine randomly stopped seeing the harddrive assignments on my harddrives. I had to do some repair work to get it to show.

EDIT: Good Job Wombat! Its nice to see a couple peeps have an easy time with system problems lately.
