I always knew there was a reason I LOVED the guys at Criterion (http://www.criteriongames.com/). Something about cars and crashing...they just get it. And if that wasn't reason enough, they've gone and given me much more of a reason.
Look at that, will ya? Just look at it. It's the Jansen 88 Special. But we all know what it really is. It's our dream come true. I can now sit at the long end of a straight away at night and try to start my car, before I bang my head on the controller and it comes to life. Just so I can speed down and well...you know the rest. And yes, it comes with flame trails. Oh and one more thing...

It hovers!
The greatest car in the world is part of a paid DLC pack - The Legendary Car pack. They’re available to buy individually or discounted, if you pick up the whole set. In addition to the Jansen 88 Special, look out for the Cavalry Bootlegger, Manhattan Spirit and the GT Nighthawk.

This whole day has been nothing but WIN for me. I picked up Gears 2, got some other good news from a friend, got more people from IGC into the Left 4 Dead early demo, and now this.
Great goddamn day, I tell ya!

Bootlegger is probably the General Lee...the other two could be a take on K.I.T.T from Knight Rider, I guess.

My first guess on the GT Nighthawk is K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider.
Bootlegger is probably the General Lee
I don't know why I didn't think of that, but I'd bet you're right.
Manhattan Spirit though?...could it be Ecto 1?

Okay, my brain is exploding here. So lets say they give us KITT...would turbo boost be a click of L3 and we can jump anywhere?!?
Or is it Super Pursuit Mode?

"Doc! You're telling me...you put a time machine...in Burnout Paradise?!?"
Lame, I know, but I am still so excited about this.

Wow. This is tremendous!
The coincidences are mounting.
1. You are the biggest fan of Burnout Paradise that I know.
2. You are the biggest fan of DeLorean (especially THAT one) that I know.
3. Great Scott... Scott is your name.
Let's get some numerology expert in here and we may find out who really shot JFK.

I feel conflicted. I like to crash in Burnout, but I don't know that I can bring myself to do so in such a beautiful machine.

Maintenance is bad, but the cars are extremely affordable now. Although that car was never much of a sports car- it was actually quite sluggish. It just looked fucking cool.
Of course the company in Houston, who bought all the spare parts and manufacturing equipment, is offering upgrades on the horsepower. But that'll cost you.

I have always stated that one day in my life, I will own one of those cars. I just can't decided if I want a movie replica build or keep it original.

I know it'll be easy to find you, constantly circling the paint shop in between crashes.

Scott: there is a local auto mechanic shop that specializes only in Delorians. They typically try not to sell any, but occasionally they will have one for sale. They also sell refurbished ones, but those are $76,750 from them.
Check it out here (http://www.deloreanone.com/).
Why does this have to be paid DLC? (not that I won't be buying this regardless, I just liked all the free stuff they kept giving)

omfg i want that. I was already planning to buy the new ultimate pack of the game (i got a 20 gigger and want as little on there as possible) Is there any release dates for the ultimate pack? I may have to get the OG game if its not soon 8)
Hey Scott since all the numerology points to Critereon bending to your ultimate will how about you "pretend" to love the GMC Syclone so I can finally have one to play with. purdy please ?

1.21 JIGAWATTS!
That is all. Awesome.
I was at UC Berkeley back in '91, I was taking a crap in a bathroom stall in one of the Engineering/Physics buildings. I look over and someone had scrawled '1.21 GIGAWATTS?!' and I start cracking up uncontrollably.

Be careful. You don't know where you'd end up if that toilet had exceeded 88 mph flush speed. :p
Also...Crap to the future. That is all.
That's pretty cool. I think I want to get this game now.
It cracked me up when I first saw this, because I was thinking to myself: "I wonder if Scott knows about this?" Then I looked back up, to see who posted it, and couldn't stop laughing.
This is definitely pretty cool. And are those other three cars official, or is that just speculation? After I saw that there would be three more I automatically thought of Knight Rider and K.I.T.T. I think the idea of ANY of the old Batmobile cars would be cool too. Whether it was something from the old 1960s show, or the Tim Burton film or the current "tumbler" thing that they've used in the last two films.
Was there a date for this pack's release, or did I miss that?

I was never a big Burnout fan but just the idea of driving the ECTO-1 makes me want to buy this game. 1.21 GW on wheels is also a rather tempting reason to buy.....

I've never played a Burnout game in my life. Barely even knew it existed. But now? Woe betide whoever comes between me and a copy of this game. I must have it!
*Increases speed to 88 MPH*
I hated the demo to this so very very much, but this DLC may make me suck it up and buy the stupid thing just so I can drive around in those. I'm weak :(

Don't feel too bad, I'm in the exact same boat. I loathed that demo, but now I'm feeling the irresistible pull just for this pack.

The demo was pretty weak as it didn't have enough races or events. If you felt the mechanics were fine then I think you might like the full game.
I was pretty unimpressed by the demo but love the full game, just for reference.

I really like the game, but the open world just plain is not as fun as all the prior Burnouts were. The regular support in DLC is wonderful, however.
I have hopes that Criterion will find a beautiful merge of the old event system and the new sandbox version. The world is fantastic to drive around and find paths that take you over rooftops and through billboards. I'm just tired of having to drive back to an event to try it again. (I'm also tired of not being good at driving and navigating streets.
Anyways, yay DLC!!

Are most people playing on 360 or PS3? Or does it not matter? I mean if COGs don't race each other, it doesn't matter.
Probably doesn't matter cause I'm about to order the 360 version before any of you can reply.

Have you done the install with it on the 360? I did and found it to be a much better in-game experience.

Not yet. I was waiting to hear if it improved load times or not as I hear some games like Halo 3 are slower when installed. I will have to clear off some space from the 120GB drive I have and install it then.

Load times don't change much, but there is change in gameplay. This is from a post in another thread: Just installed Burnout Paradise. Took about 6 minutes.
Didn't seem like it did much for the load times....HOWEVER, I don't know if it's just from not having played in a while, but the game looked fantastic, and I think it actually does something to the traffic. I was in a wreck, but cars just kept hitting me AND staying on the road during the incident.
Not only that, during Showtime I could easily see what was down the road, and none of it would vanish on me. Big benefit here with having the game installed rather than playing from the disc.
