The co-op stuff is just as good as the singleplayer portion. Definitely try to play each section with somebody who hasn't seen it yet, because some of the puzzles are amazing.

I need to play this myself. Kinda confused about the Professor Portal achievement in the sense that why would you want to coop with someone who has all the answers? Problem with coop puzzle solving I suppose.

Well, from personal experience, I know a lot of people who use Portal to get non-gamers into games, or to get casual gamers to make the jump to bigger titles. I did this myself, by gifting copies of Portal 1 to both my brother and my brother-in-law.

I played through coop for the first time with my brother, but if my in-law enjoys Portal 1 enough to want Portal 2 he won't really have anyone he knows to coop with. So I'll play through with him, helping him with puzzles only when he asks for hints.

Also, after a few months, it's going to be harder and harder to find someone who hasn't played the coop already for late buyers. Your options are to wait until someone else you know buys the game (might take a while), somehow find a stranger who never played (blech), or play with a friend who already completed the mode.

Although I do agree that it will be a tricky achievement for everyone to get. Technically, it's impossible for 100% of the community to get it. :)

I'm just now getting back into gaming on PC so I don't really know a lot of the PC gamers here on CoG. I'm definitely interested in changing that though. :) So if anyone sees me on, don't hesitate to send an invite, I'd love to play some co-op.

It keeps track of your individual progression. When you enter a series of levels it will show on the wall which ones each players has completed. I'm not sure what happens if two players that have different completed levels try to enter a higher level than they both have finished. It probably won't allow it.
