View Full Version : Crazy Personal Story

This is a personal story that I find the need to tell people about. So, if you really don't want to hear it, feel free to move on. It could be like some weird love story maybe, but anyway...(names changed to protect the guilty)

As some of you may remember I was engaged to marry an ex-girlfriend of mine of 2 1/2 years. Well, she had to go back to Brazil for the summer and I was planning on going down there temporary in October until she got her school finished. I broke off the engagement because while she was in Brazil she was acting different. Distant, not caring, just all around not something I'd want from a fiancee. Right before I broke it off with her, her good friend that's also a Brazilian just got separated from her husband and needed a temporary place to stay. Problem is, I don't like this girl.

I knew her just about as long as I knew my ex, Cindy. And I immediately found this girl to be very attractive when Cindy introduced us. But Cindy always told me bad things about her. She just married to get to the US, just wants money to buy things, isn't a good Mother to her two kids, didn't want to work, and as soon as she hits two years of marriage she'll be divorcing so she can keep her citizenship. Cindy also told me that the marriage was bad anyway. He would hit her and not really show any love of any kind. Cindy's friend, Michelle, would then go out every night and come home 6-7am....because her husband didn't care what she did. So I knew how troubling these people were.

But since I was expected to go to Brazil, I could use the extra money, and being Brazilian, I know she could cook and clean. So I figured it would only benefit me for her to be here. I already had two roommates at my house, and Michelle said it was fine that we turn the front study into a temporary bedroom for her.

She moved in and after a few days I realized some things. Cindy pretty much lied to me about Michelle. Not only that, but one day Michelle tells me that I'm much different than Cindy told her about. Some were little things, and some were personal things. Michelle thought I was a terrible, lazy boyfriend to Cindy, and she was trying to get her to break up with me. And while I was with Cindy, she would always tell me how Michelle wanted to break us up...well now it makes sense. Michelle does want to work and go to school, but her husband wouldn't let her. She has even been with him for 5 years, so the marriage-divorce for greencard was just a lie. Now, she's working and trying to plan for school. Cindy also told people a very personal thing about Michelle that Michelle asked Cindy to keep to herself...and she didn't. So, Michelle felt betrayed.

Michelle also thought Cindy and I had an open relationship. Because over this summer, while engaged, Cindy had a boyfriend in Brazil. So, Cindy had lied to me even more. It was around this time that I knew I was done with Cindy. I broke up with Cindy, and she didn't care. You could say that having Michelle around was just the exchange of one girl to another, but it wasn't like that. Michelle and I just had a strong connection. She would cook for me all the time, and clean the entire house, which she said she just feels like taking care of me. We then find out we like each other.

Then there was some Cindy drama that came out of no where....she saw pictures of Michelle and I and then decided she wanted me back. This part is a whole other story, but let's just say Cindy's true colors were shown.

Michelle and I became in love with each other, and the feelings I had were stronger than they ever were with Cindy. We even made some pretty serious future plans for each other. She's even updating my house...she's been spending the week remodeling the kitchen. Now, I normally would never date a woman with a kid...even two, but I saw that as a quality in Michelle. I knew that once she got the house and kids, we would all be together. And it didn't bother me. Also note, the divorce isn't final until December, so I'm also helping her go through all that crap, which again, shows me how strong she is.

And then, just a week or two ago, we find out we're having a baby.

I think it's a crazy story, and there really is a lot more to it, but I just wanted to get the point out.

That is, indeed, a crazy story. Sounds like a happy one, though! I hope all goes well.

PS if this is an opportunity to learn some Portuguese, take it. It's a beautiful language that I wish I understood a little better when listening to the likes of Seu Jorge.

As much as the older stuff sucks, it's awesome that things seem to be working out so well for the both of you.

And congratulations on the third kid!

Pretty wild story man, funny how certain people will try to get inbetween others and just cause trouble for those around them. I cannot understand some personality traits, like what the fuck did these people's parents do to them while they were growing up?

Congrats on the upcoming minion!

"Tune in next week on "As the World Turns""!

Seriously, that's some soap opera shit you got going on, but an interesting read. I'm glad you were able to cut through your ex-fiance's bs.

So...who's going into a coma? ;)

Congrats on the upcoming baby , make sure your doing the right thing though with this new girl as I am sure before Cindy went to Brazil you were totally sold on her and maybe this girl is just a smarter version of Cindy. Just be careful , you seem like a good dude and hopefully this girl is truly the one for you.

That's the only 'problem' if you want to call it that. We've only been together for a little over a month. This is all really quick, but maybe living together the whole time helps.

Goddamn man, that's some crazy shit. As long as you're happy, that's obviously the most important thing. You sound pretty psyched about the whole situation, so that's awesome. Congrats on the kid and finding a cool girl, too.

Bad assumption, mostly of then don’t.

Seems to me like both would be bad assumptions...

Bad assumption, mostly of then don’t.

Yeah, I knew writing it like that would seem like a questionable assumption, especially to a Brazilian, but in my experience...from who I've met here and during my time in Brazil, I'd stick with that.

Wow, that's a hell of a story. Some parts sound strikingly similar to some events in my life a few years ago. I hope everything works out as well for you as they did for me.

Wow, sounds like despite a bad beginning, it worked out well in the end. Congratulations to you and "Michelle" for finding each other, and congratulations regarding the baby. Sounds like everything's coming together well for you.

I hear Brazillians, Men and Women are both fucking crazy. So my girlfriend tells me, who's very involved with her Capoeria group, which has a lot of Brazillians (obviously) and visiting Brazillians.

Otherwise, sounds good. Your story sounds similar to mine with a then-girlfriend who went to Mexico and basically did the same thing to me. Though she was from Texas, so...

Here's hoping you don't find some skeletons in her closet. Not to be cynical, but knowing she came from a bad relationship containing children and having only really known her for a month there is a lot left to discover.

I think I just read a synopsis of a Harlequin novel (http://www.eharlequin.com/). That is, indeed, very peculiar. I wish you all the very best.

Damn! And to think that I thought I missed Soap Operas because I worked days.

If I followed all of the twists and turns of that story properly... Congrats!

Well, there's your problem. Why would you be engaged to an ex-girlfriend? That's just asking for trouble. ;)

Exactly what I was thinking. Either that or some crazy soap-opera. Crazy story about crazy chicks....well, one crazy chick. Really, one crazy chick is all you need for a good story though. Glad to hear things have worked out so well.

Well said and thought out. With threads like this you ask yourself, do you state an opinion, or just keep a mouth shut and go "congrats, and future happiness". So since Lutheran summed it up so nicely...I'm going with good luck with it all...

While congrats is great, I think the story shuld lead to more opinion. Hell, I call it a crazy story because it is. This is way to early in a relationship to have a kid with some one...that is still going through their divorce and custody. !!!

Well yeah. But who are any of us to shit on you for that? It's nutty that this is the way it's going for you, but if you're happy right now that's all you can expect.

I mean, I know if it had been me in your situation I would probably have drank myself into oblivion.

Like...I'd STILL be drunk.

Nevertheless, congrat!

Oh shit. I haven't seen Adam on Live for a couple days. If he's on Hell Island now, I'll be so sad.

I wonder if he has a constant?
