Once again this week we have our PSN update, though there's not a whole lot to get excited about this week, unless you're one of those people who hasn't played MGS4 or you really want new Sackboy outfits. Here's the full list from the PlayStation Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/11/06/playstation-store-update-59/):
Qore Episode 06: November, 2008 ($2.99 for episode / $24.99 for Annual Subscription)
Metal Gear Solid 4 Demo
NCAA Basketball 09 Demo
LittleBigPlanet Halloween Mask Costume (Free) - Limited Time Offer
LittleBigPlanet Spaceman Costume (Free) - Limited Time Offer
Tom Clancy’s EndWar FirstWar Enlistment Pack (Free)
NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM Pack 3 (Free)
Guitar Hero World Tour Tracks
Rock Band Tracks
This is the third week in a row with absolutely no PSP content on the store. They'd been doing pretty well with consistant content for months now, what's the deal?

An MGS4 demo now? Sigh.
I'll have to snag the LBP costumes. Otherwise, zzzz....

An MGS4 demo now? Sigh.
Think of it this way - it took Incognito 13 months to get a Warhawk demo out. Konami did it over twice as fast!
I'm sure it's to boost holiday sales, or something.

Hey, don't hate. That's something I'm interested in. I was probably going to get MGS4 eventually anyway, but demos are always nice.

Is MGS4 demo only single player or it has some part of MGO is in there too?
I like to see more people playing MGO.

Nice to have the Halloween costume... a week after Halloween. I hope they do more free sackboy outfits and don't nickel and dime us with them.
I'm still waiting on a Trophy patch before playing MGS4 and when I do, I'm going to skip each cutscene and time myself on how long it takes to "play" the game. So come on Konami, get that patch out!!! But the demo makes sense before Christmas though.

I just think it's really silly to put them out so long after the game ships. Call me old fashioned, but I still think of demos as being the equivalent to a trailer for a movie. You get a chance to try the game and see if it grabs your interest or not. It is something that should come out preferably before a game ships or shortly afterwards.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one there. So far as skipping all the cutscenes, you're missing part of the point of MGS. It's not just the game but the story and cinematics that make it what it is. Take away part of that and you've got something that's incomplete.

I agree. MGS is the consummate "interactive movie" experience. To avoid the cutscenes is to miss the point of the games. Still, a trophy-enabling patch would be nice.

I just read that as OJG has already played the game and now wants to do a blast through the game to see how much actual gameplay there is... and to get trophies.

Ah, that's not the worst thing to investigate. And I'll remind Konami that trophies should be implemented.

Nope, I find MGS4's story to be extremely boring and tedious. But a few friends have the game and will let me borrow it for as long as I want. Since I think the story is boring, I'm going to skip it and as a fun little game to time it to see just how much actual gameplay that 50 gig Blu-ray disc is providing me.
But I don't want to waste my time if there aren't trophies so that's why I'm waiting for it. The game isn't going anywhere so I have all the time in the world. I'm sure they will patch it at some point.

I wish they would just drop PSP games on there like it was raining, even the new ones.

If that's all you care about, I'm sure you could probably find that answer somewhere on the net by now. If you sneak through it's probably a 10 hour game the first time through, though I know there have been speed runs that made it through the game in around 5 hours.
Personally, my final save was about 22 hours playing through with all the cutscenes and playing through the game using stealth where possible.

Give the guys a break, it's only out for a little while. At least there's free stuff and to be honest they don't have to give you jack shit.

I beat it twice in the first week I had it, skipping cutscenes the second time. Gametime was between 4-6 hours, but I knew exactly what to do and where to go. During the first playthrough, there were quite a few fights and areas where I had to figure out what to do, and that usually involkved listening to a lot of codec conversations.
Everybody gets so caught up in the movies that they forget it's also a really fun game just to play for playings sake. I still get it out everyonce in a while just to see how fast or well I can beat a part, or to try new ways of beating something.
I wish the PlayStation store would take a page out of Nintendo's book and offer more PS1 full games for download, I missed out on some real gems.
