Jeremy's elsewhere tonight, but Matt's come back again, and we've welcomed him in the fashion to which he's become accustomed. In the moments we aren't giving him unearned shit, we make our way through the last three weeks of happenings. Games having been played, there's a lot we feel the need to share. We're probably wrong about some of it.

I'd also like to save you the time wondering by telling you straight away there's no April Fool's goings-on. We aren't the sort who plan that far ahead.

I agree completely with your comments about the BF3 trailer. If you removed the gun model you'd have no idea it was actually supposed to be gameplay footage, you wouldn't know your character was there at all, it would just look like a cinematic trailer shot in 3rd person.

Scott, hate to call you on a pronunciation but the Spectrum is British (from way back when we used to make things) so it is Zed X Spectrum. I actually had the 16K model before upgrading to the 48K.

Limee, what are you talking about? I'm an Anglophile. I love Europe and would eventually love to live there again. The 3 years I lived in England we some of my favorite. If anything, I feel like I am the most Euro centric of the bunch.

I forgot to add the :p. It was the section you called us all PC gamers and then moved onto the South Koreans. PC gaming is certainly popular in Eastern Europe.

The 3DS sums up the 3D situation for me. The games have to be playable in 2D which eliminates the chances of 3D bringing anything to the table from a gameplay perspective. I am ok with 3D in the cinema as I think it works best on a huge screen in ideal lighting conditions where you shouldn't be disturbed by real life for the 2 hours you are there. I have no interest in having 3D in my home for gaming, films or whatever. It seems to me that it is reaching a situation where there are too many huge corporations with a vested interest in it for it not to be a success.

I am really ready for another Rainbow Six game considering the last one came out in 2008. I guess we will hear nothing on the next one until Ghost Recon Future Soldier is released.

I still feel that the last good R6 game came out in 2004. Rainbow6 3 Raven Shield was the last time it felt like the original R6.

I agree with that, but I still had a ton of fun with the R6 Vegas games even though I like them for completely different reasons. Have you played the old R6 games recently? I've been thinking about buying them on Steam but I wonder if they're too dated to go back to, the AI was pretty messed up in a lot of cases.

Seriously? CS:S discussion that I didn't prompt? Lol, along with 2 eps within a week (i think?), it was a nice suprise. Let me explain why that is, why cs and cs:s is still around. Because it isn't just deathmatch anymore, it has zombie maps (which became zombie master, which is a better game then what L4D is), surf maps (pre-cursor to Mirror's Edge?), gun game, and a bunch of other variations. It is around still because the mechanics of gun shooting dude is good enough that it can apply when you change everything else except that. So, even though you obviously hate it, James, try out gungame. When you filter the servers, just search for mapname of "gg_", if you want stupid easy then play on a reversed gun game, and if you want no spawn time, then play a deathmatch server. It will put a 7 year old game in a whole new light.

Lockdown? In terms of level design, not really anything near the old games, but it does feel moreso like the old games as opposed to something like RSV or the upcoming Future Soldier.

For me, BF had always been horrible. Terrible menus from my hour of trying to find out how to get into a game of BF2 is pretty much all of my experience apart from playing hours in bf:bc2 MP. Let's be clear though, having SP or MP or both should not judge the game experience, if the studio is good at MP then it will stand out and turn into something that lasts, if it is forgetfull and tacked on, then it won't. While I get that BF is known for online and not singleplayer stuff, wouldn't it be nice if you could co-op that shizz and some dude like me who only plays SP type stuff would be able to experience that?

Our last recording session was delayed until this week and James usually doesn't upload (or forgets to do so) until the day of recording. We're suppose to gather early this week to record, so hopefully it will be available in the next day or so.
