The beta for the community made 'Cold Stream' Campaign is downloading as I type this. Anyone up for a game tonight?

I'm interested if you try it tomorrow. Lemme know on steam and I'll even tear myself away from Shogun.

Will do.
Impressions: Cold Stream feels mostly like a fan created campaign. There are some good spots - the last level in particular - but there are also some very rough spots. On my only run through Wackman somehow spawned to start the last level outside of the safe room, and we couldn't follow him. A little bit of work could make it a good campaign, but I don't know if it will ever be a great one.

I still blame Wack for that. As is with most fan made campaigns, the special infected spawn ratio is a little out of control. What I do enjoy about it though is how broad the pathways are. This left me looking at my 6 on regular intervals rather than just at the sound of an incoming horde or special infected.

Yup, like the others said, it's not bad, but definitely feels like a custom campaign. The first couple levels are very open, which leads to some odd spawning tendencies for both the hordes and the special infected.
That said, I enjoyed the finale quite a bit. It feels like The Parish, but with more wiggle room since you aren't confined to a bridge packed with cars.

I played this one online yesterday with a friend of mine and our own lance Uppercut. The lack of voice chat didn't help (was at work.... couldn't use my headset), and I am woefully out of practice. We had a very hard time with some of the level layouts (it's not very clear at all sometimes where you're supposed to go, and we got hung up on the environment often), and the director was absolutely relentless.
I ended up being the only one to make it to the helicopter, which I actually felt kinda bad about. Even there, though, the game almost killed me as you don't board the heli automatically at the top of the ladder... I almost fell off trying to jump from the ladder into the heli... that should be an easy thing to fix.
The forest looks VERY nice, and I really like some of the set pieces and ideas in play here, but it's definitely not something that's ready for "release"
Still, it was good to play a little L4D again... definitely forgot how fun that game can be, even when it's kicking your ass.
