View Full Version : Heroes Game Quietly Canned

Ubisoft has quietly canceled the planned game version of NBC's Heroes. No reason was given, but the rights have reverted back to NBC/Universal.
In all honesty: did any one have the slightest hope for this game? I mean, what would the gameplay have been? A MUA type action RPG? A brawler where you use the invincible cheerleader as a bludgeon? A point and click in which Mohinder tries to find a clue?
Anyway, it's dead and I doubt anyone cares one way or another.

Thank God. Heroes does not need a game.

Most overrated TV show since LOST, with about as much meaningful plot development.

I still like Heroes. A game based on that universe could have been cool.

Where there to be serious development on it I'm sure it could have spawned a great game game. But that was never going to happen in the first place so this would have been a steaming pile of shit.

Game probably got shitcanned after how badly the series has been tanking the last two seasons.
Lets hope for Chuck instead!

They could do a good game based on Heroes, but really all it would be is a super hero game. I mean they would only use the Heroes title to gain the notoriety.
An action RPG would be fantastic, if done right. Unfortunately games based on movies, or tv shows are always rushed to the market and are never as good as they should be. If someone took their time and used all of their resources, the game could be great. Think, Mass Effect, but in the Heroes universe. It could work.

A Heroes game could have been good, but the likelihood is it would have been a whopping failure.

There's truth here, although having just beaten Fallout 3 last night I find myself wishing I could go around slicing everyone's skull cap off Sylar-style. Not to steal any powers (like Moira's stupidity), but just because they have it coming. There's totally room for a crossover.
Also because playing through Evil isn't nearly as fulfilling as I had hoped.

They canned the 09 GOTY? Whhhhhhy!
Most crossover games suck anyway since as most have stated above, they get rushed out the door to cash in asap.

A game based around the world of Heroes could have been extremely cool, but I agree with the cynics that the project would not have been built with the necessary TLC.
