No, you sick dogs. I meant by finding an Xbox 360 game she'll enjoy!

My wife is not really a gamer, though she enjoys playing certain kinds. Those kinds are in the Tomb Raider genre, which we've unfortunately exhausted already. Legend, Anniversary, Underworld, Guardian of Light are already done. We had a blast with GoL coop, but we've played it to death.

FPS is out. She doesn't like games that are very fast, bloody, or difficult. Lady heroes appeal to her. She also doesn't like games where she has too many choices, so preferably something linear. (Yeah, I know that's weird, but it's what the lady likes)

I'm thinking of having her try Beyond Good & Evil HD, since it seems like a good fit. Anyone have other suggestions?

Has she tried Mass Effect or Dragon Age? My ex-wive LOVES those.

And a lot of girth.

What about Kameo? It came out when the 360 launched, I never played it other than at a kiosk but it seemed like it was a neat adventure game.

XBLA returned my wife to the gaming fold. So much awesome.
Risk, Kingdom for Kelflings, Castle Crashers, Beyond Good and Evil, all the boardgames. TONS of games just on there.

And a lot of girth.

Very true. Game length isn't nearly as important to women as you'd imagine. It has to be thick with content.

My wife is already a gamer but she really enjoys Civilization: Revolution, that might be a good one to try

My friend's wife LOVES Oblivion. She couldn't get into Fallout because of the gore, but she was basically obsessed with Oblivion... I was even a little concerned about their kids for a bit.

Wow, this is already a good list.

Kameo
Beyond Good and Evil
Mass Effect 2

..there's also the Lego games, which I've found loads of fun puzzles.

And from the Xbox Backwards-Compatibility pile:
Jade Empire
KOTOR 1

This list then has only one game.

Jade Empire:)

Hmm, maybe that came off wrong. I was re-listing the ones that people had mentioned earlier.

But, y'know, YMMV :)

Enslaved (really, I'm not kidding around, it's a pretty nice world to be in, it's not rockhard and linear, it's also deadcheap)
DeathSpank
Prince of Persia (not the last movie fuckup)
Fable (maybe too much choice, but the stuff can be played linear)
BG&E (maybe too much to d?)
Viva Pinata 2 is awesome, but the kiddy stylings might turn people off. Also multitasking is a must.

Jade Empire, were talking not too much stuff at once to do here people, stop plugging your own games:D

Why oh why could I not have seen this thread before anyone else? It could have been epic. Instead it's filled with a bunch of useful shit, on-topic and everything. Sigh.

Might as well suggest LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4. Very, very awesome.

Nope I understood completely. You listed some good games.
And one great one:)

My friend got his girlfriend into gaming with Left 4 Dead (although she was too nervous to play it with anything but bots) and Dragon Age. This was on the PC, but both are on the 360 and should be reasonably priced by now.
Left 4 Dead is pretty fast paced though, so maybe not the game for your wife.

Oh yes. Good choice. Between this and Kingdom/World for Keilflings my wife has entrenched herself in front of my tv.

Fable 2 would be a good option, in my opinion. Just steer clear of Fable 3, it's balls. Someone else suggested Kameo, which I loved. You could probably get both for like $30.

Have you considered buying her a DS?

It's hard and fast, but the first thing I thought of when reading what you said she liked was Mirror's Edge.

*Comes into thread, reads OP, puts pants back on and leaves* ;)

Seriously though, the LEGO games are a great series to play with people of mixed gamer skill levels. Forgiving and easy enough for even the most casual of gamers while still remaining fun for us hardcore types.

Lots of genius ideas here! Thanks guys.

We actually have a DS (she's addicted to Professor Layton). Lego Harry Potter and the Kelfings games are a couple I've never considered and will have to look into. Funny thing about Left4Dead... she hates gore and is awful at shooters, but I picked up L4D2 to play with my brother and had her join in a game. She refused to quit until we successfully beat the first section, which blew my mind.

As for Rez HD, I must admit my mind's been in the same place as everyone else's- the gutter. It's very tempting, though.

Can't go wrong with Castlevania: SOTN on XBLA. While not especially easy, it might be the gateway game to a lot of others in the series.

My wife likes Tetris, Fable 2 & 3, Rock Band, and just about anything co-op... like Borderlands!

Here are MY wife's all time favorites, this should help:

Record of Agarest War
Atelier Rorona
Sims 3
Fable II
Monopoly Streets
Afrika
Enchanted Arms
Harvest Moon (all)
Tetris
Kingdom/World of Keflings
Puzzle Quest
Viva Pinata
Toy Story 3

My wife has played Borderlands with me, as well as Lara GoL, but doesn't really enjoy them. She's also doesn't care much for music games. She can't keep up with the music games, and most heavy action games are a no go because she is "thumbstick challenged" as she puts it. On the other hand, when it comes to multitasking/RTS games, she wipes the floor with me. And in Tetris.... holy crap guys, she could own ALL OF YOU in Tetris.

You guys whose wives like music games, Tomb Raider, and Borderlands or anything like it are VERY LUCKY!
